Canuck fan Anti-Bandwagonerspurplemonkeydishwasher

Dear Anti Bandwagonerpurplemonkeydishwashers:

Why the hate?

What makes celebrating the canucks victory entitled to only the die-hard fans? The die-hard fans who have watched every game since 94 and know every lines states the canucks ever had?

I hear all this hate from team 1040 and read a few posts and blogs on the internet about this hatred towards non-die hard fans who have suddenly purchased canucks merchandise.

Now, if you consider yourself a true canucks fan, I'd like to know why would you hate a part of the most essential component of the league? Without the bandwagon jumpers, where would the franchise be? What kind of players would we have? Who'd pay for Luo's 10 mil base salary (not counting endorsements)? This money just doesn't appear out of thin air, it has to come from somewhere.

The Stanley Cup was never about money, but without the bandwagon jumpers, there's no financial incentive to play for the cup.

Lastly, to the "true" canucks fans, please pardon the rest of the 80% of people that will be out celebrating the canucks imminent victory tommorrow. I'm sure the bandwagon jumpers won't intend on pumping air in your tires.

gtfo bandwagoner

mmmk 06-14-2011 06:06 PM

I admit, back in 94 I was a bangwagoner.
But since that playoff run, I've been come a real fan.

I guess everyone needs to start somewhere.

With that being said, what's the point of your thread?

TOS'd 06-14-2011 06:09 PM

You were never trolling, just stupid.

BinsentoW 06-14-2011 06:16 PM

I dont mind bandwagoners, but there are WAY too many fake jerseys out there right now.

oldcracker 06-14-2011 06:22 PM

I'll tell you why real fans hate bandwagoners.

First off, it's because of how they talk when Canucks are being discussed. They talk like they know everything but once something that is common knowledge to most real fans is brought up, they are unaware and then it's quite hilarious.

Secondly, real fans don't go blaming players after each loss and asking for trades. Use the Canucks forum as an example, it's filled with bandwagoners. After every loss, the servers go down because tons of fans are asking for trades/call ups and etc. Fans that expect Canucks to go 82-0 in the season and then 16-0 in the playoffs are just plain dumb. Even the best teams lose once in a while but fans don't seem to understand this.

Thirdly, the amount of blame on Luongo shows how much you don't understand the game. Most of the time, the goals are a result of terrible defensive coverage. Bandwagoners will just blame Luongo because he's the easiest guy to blame. He's the goalie. Anyone with any sense of how the game works knows that the defense was just poor. However, I will admit Luongo had a terrible game against Boston yesterday.

If you want to know why real fans are hate bandwagoners, listen to Team 1040 after a loss. People that call in are ridiculously ignorant. Who suggests Schneider to start game 7 over Luongo? Are you serious? The only reason we're in the SCF is because of Luongo. If it wasn't for his save on Patrick Sharp in game 7 of OT, we wouldn't even be here. This is Luongo's team, not the rookie's. Such dumb suggestions are one of the few reasons as to why real fans hate bandwagoners.

P.S - When the Nucks are losing, bandwagoners or people who weren't fans would say, why are you watching the Nucks? They suck.

Well why are you all watching now? Hypocrites.

!YaoShi 06-14-2011 06:28 PM

Because they take up all the bar space and force real fans to go to get a spot friking early. Where were these people during the regular season. Why am I going to places 2 and a half hours early for just a spot to watch a game?

What annoys me even worse is that they go there to socialize and not watch the game or even know how to watch the game.

And because bandwagoners ask why do people hate bandwagoners.

Can't argue with the bolded above. It's just stupid and classless to go out to see a game and just socialize, only to look at the TV when everyone else in the restaurant makes noise.

Bandwagoners are much like canadian geese; when times get tough they fuck off to the south and when things are goin well again, they come back. But does that make you especially entitled to being able to view the canucks games??

Also, is it possible to view this supposed hypocrisy as an efficient way of allocating your dedication?

Or what about the other side of the coin - canucks fans who watch every single game, even if they have an absolute dog poo of a season, are just stubborn fans.

When the leafs were big and canucks were shit, were you rooting for the leafs? Does that make you a bandwagoner? Does the fact that the leafs share the same national origin negate the fact that you're rooting for a different team?

With all the double standards anti-bandwagoners, or "true" canucks fans, have, it seems that they are just as ignorant as the bandwagoners themselves.

Uh no. Fans that watch regardless of whether the Canucks have a good/bad season watch because they enjoy the sport. Some people are hockey fans first, Canuck fan second. It's a great sport. Learn to enjoy it rather than just watch because they're "winning".

I don't know who you're talking about, but most Canuck fans hate the leafs and would not ever cheer for them. I cheer for them to make the post season, but would I ever cheer them on more than the Canucks because they were winning? Heck no. I know a few people who are like that and that is straight up bandwagoning. Few years ago he was cheering for Detroit, then Chicago, and now the Canucks. I asked him why he cheered for the Canucks this season. He said because they had the most points. I laughed

if you talk about how much you hate bandwagon jumpers, you can get people to believe that you're a "REAL" fan. seems like the going trend lately.

EXACTLY, like I have no issue with the people that are all of a sudden becoming canuck fans its normal imo, the team is doing well so naturally they wanna be apart of it fine that's all good, they are at the end of the day bringing in the team revenue and maybe some day develop into a real fan. The issue I have is when these guys actually try to sound like they know their shit. They are usually the first guys to blame the refs, certain players, and shit like that when things are not going the Canucks way. I guess it just gets a little annoying and ridiculous having to hear the amount of arrogance and stupidity from these guys everyday.

Nightwalker 06-14-2011 07:24 PM

I'm a bandwagoner, sorta. I don't really watch sports but I'll watch a few playoff games and support the Canucks for the Stanley Cup.

!YaoShi 06-14-2011 07:26 PM

bandwagoners look at the score and comment on how luuu let in x amount of goals and how he sucks or choked.

fans watch the game as a whole. I just hate hearing dumb comments made by people who don't understand that its a team game.

geeknerd 06-14-2011 07:42 PM

Lol canucks fans so stubborn and possessive.

basically anyone watching a sport will make a comment whether they are bandwagoners or not.

i didnt see this anti-bandwagoner shit during the olympics? maybe it was because it was a national team but i never saw any threads about, 'i hate the people who dont watch hockey but are now cheering because we are in the finals for gold'. im sure there was people commenting about crosby etc but whatever, everyone was just cheering for the team.

im sure a majority of the people dont watch winter sports regularly, but when it was in Vancouver, our hometown that we live in, i bet more vancouverites were watching the games than ever. geee i wonder why. does that give anyone the right to say dont watch alex bilodeau win gold, u guys never followed him before so fuck off.... LOLz

hence the REAL canucks fans are so possessive. lol

anyways im a bandwagoner and aside from the fact that hometown is winning *which is more than enough reason for someone to be a bandwagoner and cheer for them* , because when they are winning they are playing better teams and the game itself is more entertaining.

i dont really know the game but im gonna say, luu sucked when it was 5 v 3(canucks) powerplay and luu got scored on, if he was any good he wouldve kept his stand andn ot get scored on during that pp. i bet schenieder wouldve blocked that many shots and more. :troll:

lol u dum. they are not hypocrites.
the bandwagoners said 'why are u watching when they are losing and sucking', which is basically saying 'i will watch when they win and are good', and now canucks are good so bandwagoners are watching. they're actually proving what they said.

murd0c 06-14-2011 07:44 PM

This is the 3rd time I have come into this thread wanting to fail you when I have done it already dammit.

That's kinda ironic judging by your spelling and grammar. I had a hard time understanding what you were even trying to express. You took a full circle and basically stated nothing.

The clause in front of the comma already discredits anything you say afterwards. Its like listening to fox news.

vitaminG 06-14-2011 07:58 PM

As much as bandwagon hoppers piss me off, you cant go around thinking your a better fan cause youve liked them longer. Some of them will become true fans, and you should encourage them. Everyone has to start somewhere.

I hopped on the Denver broncos bandwagon in 1997, im still a huge fan of the broncos 14 years later. In fact im wearing a denver broncos tshirt right now. So am i just a dirty broncos bandwagon jumper?

!YaoShi 06-14-2011 08:07 PM

I agree with every fan has to start somewhere. Just alot of bandwagoners think they know the game and comment as if they are trying to prove to themselves and everyone around that they are not bandwagoners. I have plenty of friends right now that are bandwagoners but they say that they are and dont make stupid comments or bother the people trying to watch.

Watercloset 06-14-2011 08:19 PM

I have nothing against bandwagoners. It's the drunk loud mouth idiot fans who spout non-sense or try to start crap with other fanbases who annoy me.

Agreed! That pisses me off so much. That "our team at the expense of all others" mentality.

Like when they were cheering in boston as the guy was taken off the ice. Not cool at all.
