And Stefan retired already... at the age of 27. Although he had some injury issues throughout his career.

Either way... probably one of the worst #1 overall pick ever...

Alexandre "I'm glad I got drafted first, because no one remembers number two" Daigle :fuckthatshit:

Played in NHL All-Star Game – 1999, 2000, 2001 (voted in as starter but injured), 2002, 2004, 2008
James Norris Memorial Trophy – 2000
Hart Trophy (MVP) – 2000
NHL First All-Star Team - 2000
NHL Second All-Star Team - 1998, 2004, 2007
2002 Winter Olympics - Won Olympic Gold with Team Canada
Stanley Cup – 2007
2010 Winter Olympics - Won Olympic Gold with Team Canada

Schneider was gonna be gone eventually we all knew this. If the opportunity is right why not?

SkinnyPupp 11-18-2011 04:36 AM

Carter is a cancer to any locker room. Philly got rid of him for a reason, and look at what happened in Columbus this season.

Even if Carter was not on CBJ, they would still suck!

SkinnyPupp 11-18-2011 05:08 AM

They would still suck, but I don't think they would be a complete disaster

If a team trades away their franchise player without warning, I don't know if I want that guy on my team

That being said, I hear nothing but good things about the Canucks locker room, so maybe it would be for the better? Then again, the partiers don't seem to do so well in Vancouver...

Expresso 11-18-2011 05:49 AM

I don't really see the trade happening anyways. We JUST got booth. So unless we can unload his $4M salary, not happening. Considering Carter is a $5M hit, so we would need to package a bunch of players out. This would just be band aid fixe right now anyways, our core players needs to be better.

Hondaracer 11-18-2011 06:04 AM

Carter the cancer

Seems like a whiny little bitch who misses partying with Richards

The Great One would have preferred to be a Leaf for $3M instead of a Canuck for $8M.

Cox: Gretzky contacted to join bid for Leafs - thestar.com

Quote:

In 1996, Gretzky was a 35-year-old free agent, and set up an arrangement with then Leaf GM Cliff Fletcher to leave St. Louis and join the Leafs.

“We were talking about something between $2 million and $3 million a season,” Gretzky told Gord Stellick for the book ’67: The Maple Leafs, Their Sensational Victory and the End of An Empire, published in 2004.

And you know, the ridiculous part is that Vancouver was offering me $8 million a season. But I wanted to be a Leaf in the worst way. I told Cliff, ‘I’ll do whatever it takes to make it work. You can defer my salary for 25 years if you have to. Whatever it takes to get the deal done.’”

Ultimately, partly because Stavro was forced to pay millions to the charities named in Harold Ballard’s will, the Leafs declined to sign Gretzky, who joined the New York Rangers, instead.

“(Fletcher) said he couldn’t get the deal approved,” said Gretzky, who said he was convinced at the time he was going to play for the Leafs. “Oh, definitely. I thought that way for a few weeks.”

still want his scoring ability

RiceIntegraRS 11-18-2011 09:24 AM

I thought the reason why Gretzky didnt wanna play for us was because the canucks callled gretzky in the middle of the
Night on his home phone demanding he give his answer
