I was at the 1998 all star game when it was here, it was probably one of the best one they ever had. The stars were stacked!

I worked at the 98 All-Star game! I skipped classes at Kwantlen to make my shifts! I still have the jersey they gave us.... it was awesome, love to do it again!

Maybe instead of all the rumors surrounding Perry and Moen to Canucks. MG is probably working his way to get the 3rd Sedin, Scott Hartnell. :sweetjesus:

I'm getting wood just thinking about Hartnell on our team.

No. :( I hope we get to host another one soon.

How do they assign the cities for the ASG? Do the cities have to sumbit a request form or something?

jeedee 01-30-2012 11:11 PM

Not sure how they pick cities, but if a team has already hosted the ASG before, it'll be a LONG time before they're "allowed" to host another one.

Every team in the NHL has to host an ASG before previous teams can host it again IIRC

Next year Columbus will host the 2013 ASG, which will be their first time. Anaheim, Phoenix, Nashville, and Winnipeg will be the only current NHL cities that have not yet hosted an NHL All-Star Game.

Atlanta hosted 1 a couple years ago... would that eliminate Winnipeg's chance then?

jeedee 01-30-2012 11:54 PM

Nope, pretty sure Winnipeg still has a chance.

I'll say Winnipeg or Anaheim hosts one next year. I would say Phoenix over Anaheim, but who knows if PHX is relocating or not :lol

Nope,

It was already announced that next year's ASG is going to Columbus.

I think he meant 2014. He has already stated that Columbus is getting it 2013.

Coincidence how Morrison's first game as a Hawk is here in Vancouver. :)

Apparently he was fishing on Vancouver Island over the weekend when he got a call from the Flames GM. Didn't have to travel far to join his new team!

sonick 01-31-2012 01:34 PM

wtf I didn't even know BMo got traded.

Because it's inconsequential. It was as big as the Calgary/Jets trade yesterday and most people probably don't even know that one.

i wish it were that simple, attendance is mandatory

luckily, tonight my class might actually finish a lot earlier than normal so i won't miss the entire game.

civicyvr 01-31-2012 06:07 PM

Schneids at home. Nice to see AV giving him more ice time.

6thGear. 01-31-2012 06:09 PM

I get the CW network in HD and they're broadcasting the game. I'm gonna watch the 1st period instead of TSN, so lets see how long it takes before the commentators piss me off and I switch back to TSN..lol

civicyvr 01-31-2012 06:14 PM

Any truth to the rumour that Luongo tweeked his groin in that shootout save and therefore the start for Schneids?

domco 01-31-2012 06:16 PM

wowww that was clean

6thGear. 01-31-2012 06:18 PM

How the fuck is that clipping? Shaw got hit above the waist.
