burke is really trying to recreate his anaheim cup team :lol |
Take it for what it's worth, but on the Team 1040, they interviewed CoHo today as the team is staying at the Pan Pacific and they specifically asked him if he or his family asked the Canucks for a trade and he avoided the question by saying he was genuinely shocked at the news of the trade and when the reported specifically asked him for an answer to the question, CoHo avoided it by saying he doesn't want to dwell on the past and is looking forward with hew new team. Reading between the lines, it does sound like a trade was requested, but nothing has been confirmed still. |
Hahahaa... I'm no fan of Wilson... but how is it his fuckin fault when he's got shit goalies and shit players to work with thanks to Burke... Burkie ever looked in a mirror and asked himself who the real problem is? |

and teams throughout the league who are making massive overhaul changes, bringing in 10-12 new players in a season find a way to make the playoffs while the Leafs cannot |

hahaha, didn't Burke recently just sign Wilson to a 3 year extension earlier this season? Guaranteed contract, well that was money well spent haha I seriously think everyone is over blowing the whole who from Cody's camp might have asked for a trade or not have asked for a trade. Not sure if most know or not, but player agents routinely meet with team gms and front office reps during the year to discuss general things and likely Winter brought up he would like more ice time for his client, as thats what agents do. Now Winter does seem like a idiot at times so it could have come across in a wrong manner and without Cody's knowledge. Marc Crawford was on team 1040 a couple days ago and he said even the Sedins and their agent requested more ice time in meetings when he was coaching the Canucks and at one point both Sedins even thought about leaving the NHL to go back to play in Sweden, I believe this has even been confirmed by Daniel at some point. Pretty common behind the scenes things with agents and management, but as I said, Winter is a bit of a moron. |
Too bad they dont have 2 Norris HOF dman |
Im gonna throw a guess into the fire and say that CODY didn't ask for a trade, but his agent/manager/father was involved to some level where it may have pushed Cody out. That would explain why no one wants to talk about it, AND Cody and the Canucks both saying a trade wasn't requested, AND why Cody was sad to leave the team. |

and i agree. this cody hodgson shit is completely overblown. same with zach kassian. hes got nicknames up the ass already and hes been in blue for just under a week. vancouver puts such a microscope to the hockey community, to the point where one's flap of the arms in downtown would be felt half way across to abbotsford :derp: |
I think the thing with CoHo is that a lot of people sort of didn't see him as just another player but they looked at him as the new guy to the core who would be around for a long time and maybe be the next Kesler. I for one was a huge CoHo fan and thought he would be the next "the guy". I was real happy when he started playing well. And when I heard he was traded, it felt like my puppy was stolen and is now in murd0c's van and Ill never get it back. It opens your eyes to the hockey is business thing tho. I dont buy the arguement that we were too deep at center and there was no room for him. Cody turned the 3rd line into a serious threat for secondary scoring. You could expect an important 3rd line goal at least every other game. And he may not have been the best 2 way center available, but with Higgy and Hansen on that line, they werent a liability. Now we're back to the Sedins and Kesler line scoring like last years playoffs. And last year Hank and Kesler both got injured and our scoring dried up. |
He was supposed to be our next Linden :( |
