Today's reality for pro-sports is that things like this will get attention. An automatic suspension though? I don't think a suspension should be warranted. Kobe Bryant got fined $100,000 for saying it to a ref and Joakim Noah got $50 G when he said it to a fan. How much should you get if you say it to another player?
I want to say, it was in the heat of the battle, but that would be a slippery slope to take because what is stopping players from saying racial things.

Wow Shanny is handing out serious suspensions, and yet players aren't quite getting the message. Perhaps it's mostly a case of fringe players trying to send the coach a message - just going at it the wrong way.
Only time will tell.

People (and animals) have been fucking the same gender since the beginning of time. It's only when particular arbitrary morals are applied where such acts become considered "wrong". And that is fine. Live by whatever morals you wish. But to tell OTHER people that they need to go by YOUR morals, that is way more fucked up in the head than being gay.
That Sestito guy is a fucking blatant idiot. Ban him for at least half the season. Grinder/fringe players like him are all vying for NHL jobs right now and that's your way of showing the coach/league how you "deserve" a chance??

You realize that homosexuality is readily observable in nature, right? Pretty much every known species has some form of it and if that's not what "God" intended, he certainly screwed up his design pretty badly.

Pretty much the life of any young, fit, financially well off guy. Most of the talent Biz pulls is in the US where the ladies have no idea what hockey is lol, just that he's young, well off and fit.
