Get rid of Burkey, I think what Gillis has added to the Canucks in the past two years were more effective than what Burkey has added since he was there.

Then after winning the Stanley Cup, what does the almighty Brian Burke do? He takes a dump on the Ducks. He gives Todd Bertuzzi 4 million, and Mathieu Schneider 6 (granted, because Niedermayer and Selanne were mulling retirement), but because of when they come back he has to ship out Andy Mcdonald, and it starts going downhill from there. Not that Bob Murray is any better now, he's just as much of an idiot.

^So lets say the Canucks win the cup this year. Will Gillis get the same type of credit Burke got when he won the Cup in Anahiem? When Gillis took over he inherited alot of the pieces Nonis/Burke made before they left. Daniel/Henrik Sedin, Kesler, Burrows, Bieksa, Edler, Luongo.
Burke did great things for the Canucks. Then he went to Anahiem and won a cup there and thats a fact. He went to Toronto and made alot of big moves there. Took big gambles that somewat paid off, but the majority of them failed. The next person to come in after Burke will have alot of talent to work with so they dont have to necessarily start from scratch.
I defend Burke because some of u guys seem to think that all he did in this league was revive the Canucks and fluked out by taking the Ducks to there first Stanley Cup
I love how the headline uses the word expects even though Gillis said they are hopeful. That's reliable reporting for ya!

well as a Sharks fan holding onto the last glimmer of hope lol, I will be rooting hard for the nucks tonight, a stars win pretty much eliminates the Sharks, given LA and Phoenix has a bunch of easy matchups coming up. I'm hoping for the miracle that Dallas shits the bed lol 2 years in a row, they definitely have the hardest path to make the playoffs, after vancouver they have a home and away with SJ, Nashville, and then St. Louis.
