I feel sorry that Lu had to take the fall for the shitty D too and the only way to spark the team was to pull him.
Not to take anything away from Schneids but the crowd reaction from the goalie change just pissed me off. You could tell the people cheering were glad Lu got pulled, regardless of how shitty the D was. The way people cheer for Lu vs. Schneids on the same type saves is night and day. IIRC Cory made 9 stops and some fans act like he saved the day.
Both goalies played equally well tonight but they had different teams playing in front of them.
Lu can do no right in this city. It pisses me off when the fans do shit like that.
I feel especially bad considering it was his birthday today. Bunch of fucking bandwagonning pricks.

This is surprising to me as well, as a Sabres fan I was beyond overjoyed when he was traded, he was often out of position, weak along boards and a turnover machine. He is still young, so hopefully AV can teach him some D.
Update on Hodgson and Sulzer, Cody has been playing very well after his slow start after the trade, but that was totally understandable as he was joining the Sabres just as the team was starting a road trip playing every other night after just coming off a road trip with the Canucks. Cody didn't even get in his first practice with the Sabres until a little over 2 weeks after the trade, since then he's been very good, creating a lot of chances finding some chemistry with Vanek and Tropp.
The biggest surprise is Sulzer, he's been absolutely fantastic, playing very solid D and is pretty hot offensively, 8pts in 15 games with Sabres, he's been quietly playing as the best defensemen on the Sabres latest hot streak and very key in their run since the trade deadline run of 12-4-2

Jack Adams award, Presidents Trophy, Stanley Cup Finals, within 1 game of winning it all, possible 2nd Presidents Trophy in a row (which would be the first time this happened in 13 years)... Yup we better get rid of this guy
Actually for the superstitious crowd, I was just looking at the Presidents Trophy winners. Only 4 teams have won back to back, and there is an interesting trend:
Edmonton 1st: Lost in Division Finals
Edmonton 2nd: Won Stanley Cup
Calgary 1st: Lost in Division Finals
Calgary 2nd: Won Stanley Cup
Dallas 1st: Lost in Division Finals
Dallas 2nd: Won Stanley Cup
Vancouver 1st: Lost in SC Finals

(actually Detroit is the only other team that has won 2 in a row, and they failed to win the cup, so much for that)
