So fit = underweight and skinny? Stupid.

JSALES 06-22-2011 09:27 PM

don't believe that's accurate

jack3d 06-22-2011 10:54 PM

too bad its got the highest anorexia rate

LW 06-22-2011 11:13 PM

I wouldn't have guessed that. But as discussed, being thin certainly doesn't indicate fitness accurately. I know plenty of thin people that couldn't run 5K, period.

richmond has awesome and cheap food. No idea what you fools are talking about.

SkinnyPupp 06-23-2011 12:31 AM

^^^ But it's not trendy to eat cheap food that just tastes good.

However I would say article is misleading.
Thin does not mean fit. Nor does it mean good health.

I'm glad someone else caught this too! Thought the same thing.

yeah for obesity. but i think he was saying that the term "fittest" here is misleading, as it implies general health too. in richmond anorexic chicks and old ppl with taburculosis skew the bmi charts lol

Blame the news for that, not the measure.

Blame the CDC for that. They have no reason to be as inflated and big as they are, so they make up reasons like "obesity epidemics" and "fat = dead". Their "research" doesn't stand up to the least bit of scrutiny though.

Meowjin 06-23-2011 04:07 AM

i wouldnt deny if richmond is fit though. The gym's are always packed here, and minoru track is pretty busy... hell even my 60 year old godmother and godfather go to watermania and do water excersises.

krazynuck 06-23-2011 11:06 AM

the shell trail is always packed with people as well....I am sure that parts of the city are fit while others only look fit
