this is news.

it was just announced today so i believe it does qualify as news. its faster than a GTR or a 911 GT2 RS and 20 seconds faster than its previous time. I felt this was noteworthy and worth sharing.

Yeah this is news because that was ZR1 territory before

i am a fan of a Z06 over a ZR1.
always admired the NA engine for the Vettes

2012 is the year the Corvettes dishes out boatload of ownage on the ring.

ZR1 then the Z06, what next? I won't be surprised if they revised the Grandsport and it ran as fast as the old Z06

As much as I love the Z06 I'd still take a new GTR over the Chevy any day. The GTR is just a beast.

i'll say this again, corvette > gtr. I don't know about you guys but I like driving my cars instead of having my cars driving me. I don't know why you call it a Chevy either..

Makes sense the Z06 (with its new upgrades) could be almost as fast as a ZR1. I bet the ZR1 is quicker at the beginning, but as heat soak comes into play it'll be slower by the end of the run. That's the dis-advantage of air/water intercoolers.

You're the only one crying as a Vette fanboy. I, on the other hand, appreciate both cars.

I don't disagree with the fact that Corvette is a driver's car, but it's funny most of these fuckers using that as a reason are the ones who have never hit track before.

z06 is a beaaaasttttttttttt

and once they hit the track, they will definitely end up in the bushes. GTR is an easy car to drive, ZO6 is not. as said ZO6 is more of a driver car, and perhaps not as fun or comfortable in daily commuting. GTR on the other hand can get boring really quick. I've been lucky enough to drive one.

GT-R > ZO6 when it comes to 4 seats, and technology

ZO6> GT-R when it comes to everything else.

There's a reason why Top Gear loves the Ferrari F40. No electronic helpers, just pure power. I've never had the chance to drive a GT-R, hopefully one day, yet I've driven a Corvette from each of the past 4 decades and they are all fun to drive on the edge of control.

they are both animals, and nobody on this forum will ever drive one to their max potential anyway, so why argue?

^Exactly, but the GTR is way more forgiving if you make mistakes.

Again, they love it because it's a blast to drive on the track for a short period of time. Ask them if they'd like to daily that car. People are arguing on different grounds here. Each car serves its purpose, but if I can only afford one car, I'd go with GTR.

Aaaaand if we're going with Top Gear and someone who has actually driven both cars..
