Vehicles on the road with smoggy emissions

Do you like it when the vehicle driving in front of you is emitting smoggy smoke from their exhaust pipes and filling your car with nasty fumes?

I don't. I wish there was somewhere or someone whom I can report to about cars on the road that should have their aircare checked.

wingies 07-01-2011 05:42 PM

everyone knows aircare is the biggest money grabbing scam there is, they dont really give a fuck about the air pollution

paying $50 bucks for liek 2 mins of work on obd2 cars? no thanks but you dont have a choice

StylinRed 07-01-2011 06:00 PM

have your vents closed to outside air?

thats what i do when im in the city... why would you want to smell exhaust

hear-it-first 07-01-2011 09:32 PM

aircare promotes vehicles to fix their smoggy cars and prevents bad vehicles to be on the road. failing aircare means, fix the car or the car cannot be on the road. isnt that right?

Prolowtone 07-01-2011 09:42 PM

^ there is a control for fresh air or to recycle the air in the cab.. or at least in most vehicles

Maybe they were using sea foam? I used it in my car last week when i was going to aircare and i could not see the vehicle next to me in my complex but it was mostly cleared as i got on the road.... You could triple my results and i can still pass everything with room to spare :)

If it's on, it means that vent is closed and you're not getting air from outside.

hirevtuner 07-01-2011 10:22 PM

You do realize that bc plates doesnt' mean they must aircare if they are outside the lowermainland.

Air care is only for Vancouver and the Fraser valley.

The government doensn't earn much, if any, profit from Aircare. Aside from that, fifty dollars and fifteen minutes of my time every couple years is a small price to pay for having an atmosphere and artic ice cap for our grandchildren to enjoy.

You have up to 1 year to repair your vehicle after failing air care. Maybe they're in that period..

Agreed!!!

It's not people who drive, but people who own cars so it makes sense to me. Drivers aren't getting dinged, it's people who drive AND own cars. These are people who have already cross 2 decision thresholds and have the ability to own a car and pay for it's associated costs.

If you've ever been to a smoggy city, you'd understand. I played tourist in Beijing last year, you couldn't look down 2 city blocks downtown without noticing a grey haze. Dinging people $50 who made the choice to pollute seems like a good deal to me. I'd happily ding you so when I blow my nose, it doesn't come out black. omg, that was so disgusting.

Ahahah thanks mate, the picture totally says everything. I owned 2 cars and drove for 6 years and didn't know what that button was. Simple yet profound discovery.
