craigslist
kijiji
usednanaimo
revscene sometimes for car things

I list each item on all of them.

I find it strange that usedvancouver.com hasn't taken off in Van.

Usedvictoria is used WAY more than craigslist here in Victoria and I've had waaay more success buying and selling with it.

only wished you could leave feedbacks on CL

fliptuner 07-03-2011 06:59 PM

From what I've noticed:

Island - usedxxx and kijiji
GVRD - craigslist
Kelowna and Kamloops - craigslist and castanet
everywhere else - kijiji

today I was looking for some wheels and I entered
"4x100" worked perfect
but something like "15x7.5" will turn up no results cos it ends up searching for "15x7."
or "4/100", "15" wheels" etc. will also fail

I'm sure there are some wheels out there that I can't find because of the shitty search engine and the variations in how people make their ads

I agree. I get totally different search results when i type in 24-70 and 24-70mm. they need to improve on it.

When I was selling my Honda, Usedvictoria provided higher quality interest.
Responses from Craigslist were full of lowballers (I don't know how anyone could make an offer on a used car that they've never actually seen in person) and flakers (no-shows).

i usually stick to RS and VCC. i only use CL if there aren't any takers through the forums.

Mr.HappySilp 07-05-2011 11:20 AM

Mostly RS coz I can search the buyers/sellers and see their buy/sell raitings and pots they made. It made it safer I guess.

I have bought a few things from CL but I don't think I would sell anything there hearing some of these stories (anyone still remember that guy crash into landsone coz some buyer from CL ran away with goods?). So yea no selling on CL for me.

Craigslist, honda-tech, and g2ic.com. Sometimes ebay when im in the states.

CL

You just need to know what are the common words that people type in the search button and go from there. CL is much easier to sell than RS. There's just higher traffic.
I don't think feedback is necessary. Having feedback will reflect in higher prices as there are more "information" available. Information is money.

CL & eBay

i find that a lot of ppl on RS post things for ridiculous prices and they lowball too much as well

that's not what happened lol...

InvisibleSoul 07-07-2011 03:43 PM

I've sold many used things locally, and I never even knew about UsedVancouver...

If the item is less in demand and needs a bigger audience, I put it up on eBay.

If the item is high in demand and can fetch the same price or more locally, I put it on Craigslist.
