where do you usually post used items for sale?

Do you use Kijiji or Usedvan?

murd0c 07-02-2011 04:08 PM

craigslist

Greenstoner 07-02-2011 04:10 PM

CL & RS

TheKingdom2000 07-02-2011 04:14 PM

In Vancouver not many people use kijiji.
CL is by far the best place to post.
But, if you want to cover all grounds just copy and paste the posting everywhere. Though, i've never been successful using usedvancouver. Usually just CL and RS

Vansterdam 07-02-2011 04:17 PM

kijiji is whack lol

CL+RS all the way

and sometimes usedvancouver

iam_dan 07-02-2011 04:20 PM

ive found that kijiji is great for pets. asides from that, craigslist/rs is the way to go.

murd0c 07-02-2011 04:22 PM

OP why are you asking this and why did you sign up to RS? I'm only asking since this is your first post.

chouchou 07-02-2011 04:24 PM

^cause he's wondering where he could get the most exposure for his items, and because RS has a huge number of members most of which have likely sold used items before.

first post or not it's just a question, aren't forums for answering questions like these?!

edit... and to answer, rs/cl.

murd0c 07-02-2011 04:31 PM

^ There has been so many :troll: posts lately by new members that's why I'm asking. You don't have to be part of RS to know CL is the best site around right now and he didn't even mention it.

carisear 07-02-2011 04:33 PM

i've sold my last 2 trucks offa kijiji. got no hits on CL. so i guess it depends what you are selling.

hotong 07-02-2011 04:36 PM

cl

seakrait 07-02-2011 04:37 PM

CL for sure. everything i've posted on CL got sold within a week. if you post on RS, get ready for lowball offers. hahahahahha... :p

I actually dont have good experience with CL, as i always email the seller with no replies to anything.........whilst i get prompt replies from kijiji or usedvan.

Alatar 07-02-2011 05:55 PM

It really is dependent on what you're selling. Some things do better on CL, some do better on RS. Others do better on kijiji. I've never had any luck with usedvancouver, personally. RS can have the typical lowballers, but you get those on CL and KJ too.

CL is better in Vancouver, KJ seems to be better in the Okanagan.

What you're trying to sell may have an impact on your luck, as well as where you're trying to sell it.

As with any sales involving people you probably don't know, try to meet up in populated, well lit areas at normal hours, during the day.

tegz 07-02-2011 06:24 PM

90% of the items that I post on CL, RS sell on CL first. It just has more traffic for buyers!

AutozamAZ-3 07-02-2011 08:57 PM

have you guys ever had luck on autotrader before? curious what the consensus is

JV6 07-02-2011 11:35 PM

I recommend craigslist since I sold many items on there

freakshow 07-03-2011 12:21 AM

i always use cl..

fliptuner 07-03-2011 01:07 AM

CL and other car forums, depending on the itm.

Anyone else remember the days of picking up a Buy&Sell on Thursdays to find what you were looking for or to see if they printed your ad correctly?

AzNightmare 07-03-2011 01:11 AM

I lol'd at the original post when he didn't even mention CL.

How do you know about Kijiji and usedvan (I never even heard of this one before)
and not know Craigslist??

Craigslist = Best

1exotic 07-03-2011 01:14 AM

common sense... post on a site that gets the most traffic.

I've never even heard of Usedvan.

q0192837465 07-03-2011 11:27 AM

CL + RS as well. Never had a bad experience (yet).

ilvtofu 07-03-2011 04:44 PM

off topic but some things are annoying about craigslist
today I was looking for some wheels and I entered
"4x100" worked perfect
but something like "15x7.5" will turn up no results cos it ends up searching for "15x7."
or "4/100", "15" wheels" etc. will also fail

I'm sure there are some wheels out there that I can't find because of the shitty search engine and the variations in how people make their ads
