when a big truck is going at high speeds, its hard for them to stop
and if they do quickly stop, they can easily lose control

its sad the ducks had to die the way they did, but if a few ducks were killed to prevent the truck from losing control and causing the death of a few people, its not that bad

but still, RIP ducklings

i've seen that happen on a highway in victoria heading into Langford on the exit. Two people got out of their car to direct traffic while walking up the exit ramp an old guy in a oldsmobile zooms right by them and runs over the ducks such a horrible sight.

I grew up in a shipyard and one thing that I can tell you is that a mama duck will try to fuck you up if you or your cat even look at it.

One of my neighbors had an abandoned duckling as a pet.

If it makes you feel any better, I went camping last weekend and woke up one morning absolutely besieged by baby geese. My friends and I gave them some food and they swam away later quacking.

This sort of thing happens...it sucks but better the ducks than any human casualties. If stopping to save the ducks was dangerous...well...then...

obviously don't know shit all about trucking, I have had my own fucking business in that industry. 5 minutes = 500$, so the fuck what, ducks got hit on the road which is full of traffic it would of happened somewhere else in this world. Once you move out of your parents' house ( in your mid 30s as is customary in Vancouver) you will discover more horrific things in the world than roadkill ducks.

I hope you didn't call 911 to have the duck ambulance come and take them to SPCA. :D

Sad to hear. I have a tough time with animals being hurt; accident or not. Yes, I know it's just life and it happens all the time but it doesn't make it easier to deal with.

Hope mama duck is OK.
