FORZA 4!!!!

Trailer is out

Can't wait! they added the top gear track too, IMO Forza has always been better than GT especially when it comes to tuning/mods which are much more extensive and the test drive mode was great.

Kinect! Any point to it? seems like it could be a nuisance in some circumstances though

vexor 07-12-2011 06:59 PM

This is a trailer from E3 from last month, so far no new one has come out :(

I'm most looking forward to having 16 players online.... just so long as they aren't all newbs and take you out on the first corner

rexsomnii 07-12-2011 08:10 PM

holy shit that looks amazing.

1exotic 07-12-2011 10:07 PM

Forza 3 was pretty awesome already, so Forza 4 will wreck shit.

I haven't played xbox in like 6 months but I guess this will be next.

6insomnia9 07-12-2011 10:11 PM

I think im going to buy an xbox just for this game.

G-spec 07-12-2011 11:26 PM

Yea nice clip saw it the other month, whats pissin me off is that this is obviously PRE rendered footage, the game wont actually look like that... Looks like they took a few seconds of ingame racing footage and rendered it flawless just so they could make the claim of "in game"

games wont look like that for another few years at least... which brings me to another point, games were supposed to look like this on the 360 and PS3, i remember the game studios hyping up the future of their games prior to the console releases....

If games today looked like this graphically, they would actually be worth the $70+ pricetag

more top gear stuff with clarkson as a narrator

asian_XL 07-13-2011 04:10 AM

WTF, Forza 4 is coming out? I dont even have time for Forza 3

kyoshi 07-13-2011 07:42 AM

looks like they finally programmed in the airbrake for the cars that have them.

forza > gt at this point. I think most people were so disappointed with GT 5

mercyboy 07-13-2011 08:44 AM

Hope this will expand over months....forza 3 was good, hope they develop more import to put in

It is ingame but they record on a much more powerful PC where they can apply mass amounts of anti-aliasing to remove the jaggies. If games on the PC had these types of budgets with 400+ staff, it could already be done.

rawr 07-14-2011 08:22 AM

I find forza's physics kind of wierd. You really notice the difference when you play both games side by side.

I think the overall feel is a lot better, might be the controller though. I usually play with the standard controllers not the steering wheel. but when it comes to drifting, for me at least, forza is a lot easier. I feel the back end kick out a lot better playing forza. And when you're learning how to play the progressive driving line really helps in learning when you can give more power or when you're going too fast. Just having the blinking light and brake zones marked in GT5 isn't as good

One of my biggest pet peeves is how cars feel in GT5 if they are standard vs premium, the standard cars just feel numb and like you're playing something from 5 years ago. And I love how they claim to have so many different models of cars when it's more like 50 models of skylines, 50 civics, 50 fairladys etc. whereas forza seems to have a more diverse range of cars.

As I've already stated the tuning in forza is just spectacular and you can also turn on the physics to see how your suspension, tire heat, g forces, etc. work. Engine swaps/drivetrain swaps are really cool too. One benefit in GT5 is that you can mod a ferrari 458 for the same amount of money as modding an EK civic, unrealistic but helps if you don't play that much. I'm also not a fan of how the A-spec races are pretty much the same as the ones from 5-10 years ago, whereas with forza you get more interesting races ie. Honda, hatchbacks, suv, executive cars, supra vs skyline.

I haven't played forza 3 on a steering wheel yet but I have played forza 2 on the microsoft one and it wasn't that great. I play GT5 regularly on the DFGT and feel that it does enhance the experience.

It'll be interesting to see how they use Kinect. If you turn your head....then won't you not be looking at the TV? Multiple screen support??!?

YUPPPPPPPPP

I bought PS3 when it first launched anticipating GT5.

Ended up getting an xbox for Forza 3, loved it.

Then GT5 finally came out and.........flop

I've finished Forza 3, and played maybe 3 hours GT5 when it first came out. Now it's just collecting dust.

unit 07-15-2011 05:49 PM

forza aint got shit on gt
in 2022 when gt6 comes out you'll see.

The PS eye already supports this in GT5. You just turn your head slightly to move the view, you don't have to exaggerate the movement and then not see the screen.

10,000 standard model vs 800 premium model on 3 blu-ray 400GB discs :fullofwin:

I'm a GT fan and even I admit they can't keep up with the times. The game feels archaic despite the 1080p graphics @ 60fps. Still fun as hell though and the meticulous details is what's keeping me around that game.

FerrariEnzo 07-20-2011 06:38 AM

Wow... Kinect head tracking....

Jeremy Clarkson to Voice Forza 4

Jeremy Clarkson To Voice Forza 4 Game, Can Be Turned Off

Quote:

Many consider the Forza series of XBox racing games to be the best console racers... in the world. One thing is for sure though, it's the only racing game that's voiced by BBC Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson.

Known as "Motormouth" to some and several unrepeatable things to many other people, the one thing that's for sure is that there are few better people to give their opinions on tire-burning supercars than Clarkson. Forza Motorsport 4 (FM4)'s developers, Turn 10 Studios, signed a deal with Top Gear last year and footage from the show has already appeared in some versions of Forza 3.

You will be pleased to hear that Clarkson's commentary is optional and the big man can be silenced at the touch of a button. His musings will be integrated into the AutoVista feature of FM4 that allows gamers with an XBox 360 Kinect controller to open car doors, examine details and peer under the hood.

Like the Museum feature in Gran Turismo 5 on PlayStation 3, the aim is to let people interact with cars and motoring culture. "Our goal with this is to turn gamers into car lovers, and car lovers into gamers", explains Turn 10 spokesman Dan Greenawalt.

Forza Motorsport 4 is scheduled for release in the United States on October 11.
