Is this allowed in Canada?

BeefCake4000 07-16-2011 03:25 AM

Yes it is allowed in Canada. I know the article is meant to be a joke but putting too many accessories on a firearm will actually decrease your chance of survival. The reasons are as follows:
1) More weight=faster fatigue
2) More weight=slower movement
3) More accessories=easier to get tangle in tight spaces

The saw didnt seem to make sense. Pretty funny tho.

zombie survival fail, a blanket is no shelter from zombies he's just been bitten!

twitchyzero 07-16-2011 01:41 PM

it needs to be able to deploy pipe bombs to be truly zombie-proof:fullofwin:

Mossberg sell the JIC (just in case) shotgun which i believe is marketed primarly towards paranoid idiots. In fact i think it came out right after hurricane Katrina.

Its basically a pistol grip (wrist breaker) shotgun and comes in an airtight floating tube and also includes a multitool and some other crap.

That looks like some pretty crappy accessories.

2damaxmr2 07-16-2011 03:07 PM

Kel tec ksg is way better than that.

nns 07-16-2011 03:10 PM

Slightly OT, what's a good brand for a multi-tool and where can I get it locally?

Yeah, Murdoc's suggestion is bang on. I have several Leathermans which have never failed me. Any reputable outdoor outfitting shop will carry them, I think most of mine came from MEC.

I carry a Skeletool on me daily, my backpacking kit has a Wave and I also have a Surge sitting around the house.

MEC - Skeletool CX

MEC - Wave

MEC - Surge

TOS'd 07-16-2011 04:07 PM

Skeletool CX is nice, too bad I sold mine years ago. =[

nns 07-16-2011 04:25 PM

I was actually looking at the other Skeletool they have, the one with the serrated blade.

This one, http://www.mec.ca/Products/product_d...34374302696889 . $54 vs $84 for the CX. That's quite a difference.

But the CX has Carbon-fibre handle scale. :fullofwin:

The regular Skeletool uses a 420HC type of steel compared to the CX's 154CM steel. A 154CM blade is made of a harder, tougher material and is more corrosion resistant than 420HC. It will also hold it's edge 2-4 times longer than a 420 blade. Without a doubt the Skeletool CX has a superior blade (and while it originally only came with a serrated combo blade, so far as I know the CX is now only offered with the straight blade) however depending on your potential uses for it having the serrated edge can be more beneficial.

nns 07-16-2011 06:44 PM

I want a serrated blade for sure. I just know I'm going to need it 1 day and regret not having it.

BTW, thanks for the explanation.

edit: it's surpisingly small. I thought it would be bigger. It was on display at Sport Chek.

Yes, I actually own the normal Skeletool myself. Still a great knife and perfectly adequate blade. The tactical Benchmade 556 behind it has a 154CM blade. The larger Gerber behind that is in keeping with this thread topic, my Zombie Defense Knife. I have no idea where my Surge is right now.

nns 07-16-2011 07:06 PM

The one on the lower right is the CX? The older model that had the serrated blade?
