Man builds his own million dollar Bugatti supercar by hand | Today in Tech - Yahoo! News

Not sure if anyone is digging the funky colors.

Stealthy 07-16-2011 08:20 PM

Like all replica cars, it still isn't the real thing. :failed:

The_AK 07-16-2011 08:50 PM

professional paint job my ass, there is already a scratch on the left side of the rear bumper. Can only get that during installation

LP700-4 07-16-2011 08:58 PM

Being built by hand and all its the best replica ive seen. Fix up the taillights, wheels, and get a couple badges, and its good to go.

1.5 million for something that trying to look like real thing its over priced, seriously if i had 1.5 million i would just BUY A REAL SUPER CAR & not just a over priced fake (i dun even care if its the fast then the real thing)

seriously your not making a better version of a classic car

Yeah, everyone knows that, but the car is priced at $89 000

"Duff currently has the vehicle up for sale with a price of $89,000 — less than 1/10th the price of a genuine Veyron."

Read the article much? Veyron: $1,500,000 USD. Replica? $89,000USD. It's for sale too.

-edit-

Except for the engine, you know, whatever.

Not my cup of tea, but I applaud the effort. This guy is probably that Arash guys new mentor/hero.

They are the original colors, just reversed. Although admittedly I didn't care for the original color scheme too much anyhow.

Did you even read the article, or do you just like the sound of the hot air coming out of your mouth?

Also a car that has been around for 5-6 years does not qualify as a classic car. Awesome, yes (understatement). Classic? Not yet.

It's always the Cougar that get molested. 89,000. He's simply out of his mind.

bloodmack 07-17-2011 04:36 AM

89,000 could get me a car and make it faster and look better then a veyron..

I would like to offer you a job...make me that car that can cruise around the Top Gear test track in 1:16, hit over 400km/h on the Ehra-Lessien track before coming to a stop in 10 seconds from that speed. I will give you an extra 10,000 for your troubles.

Or you can admit you are an idiot. Either works. Car or idiot, you choose.

I wont touch the looks comment, because I believe it's in the eye of the beholder. But if you can't see beauty in the kind of engineering that went into that car, you don't appreciate cars. period.

k wait so the thing still has the cougar engine and suspension? LOL

Sure screams bugatti once you pounce on the gas lol

underscore 07-17-2011 02:20 PM

Considering that the majority of the people who buy the Veyron only buy it for the looks and notoriety, this isn't a half bad idea. Why blow $1.5 million when you just want to make people THINK you blew $1.5 million.

Also for $89,000 you *could* make a very powerful car but the reliability and comfort level wouldn't even be close.

ilvtofu 07-17-2011 03:00 PM

$89,000 for that kinda fitment eh?

I think you guys are missing the point. This guy is obviously very good at what he does, and he took some time to work on this project to show off his skills. It's never meant to "run like the real thing", just look like the real thing. It's more like something to put into his portfolio. Imagine the kind of job offers he will be getting knowing that he can hand craft something like this at 25 years old with his own tools out of his garage. A lot of people on the forums appreciate sleeper cars where the owners mod only for performance gains exclusively. Why can't you guys have the same kind of appreciation for someone completely fabricating this exterior for aesthetic purposes only? It's not like he's out boasting what kind of speeds his car can get. He just wants people to know what he can do, and whats possible.

Sure, give me 89g's and I'll go buy an evo slap in 70-80 grand. I know the veyron is a modern engineering masterpiece. Saying I don't appreciate cars is probably the most ignorant thing you could of said to me. I live cars bud and im pretty sure most of us on this forum are.

You sir need to shut the fuck up.

Also I didnt bash the veyron or the custom cougar this guy made so why you gotta be mad?

I said this to Arash before, and he wouldn't fucking listen:

Just because it looks like the real thing, doesn't mean it IS the real thing.

I agree with the guy saying it makes a GREAT addition to his portfolio for designing, but it still doesn't mean it's right to have a fake car. To me this is like taking a detailed photograph of the Mona Lisa and calling it the original. Props to the guy, but it's still a fake.

Also, aren't Cougars HORRIBLY unreliable :fullofwin:?

yellowpower 07-17-2011 04:31 PM

i dunno.. i dont think i wud even drive it.

TRDood 07-17-2011 04:40 PM

Interior pieces are replicated too?
