Reading this made me mad, but just remember this bitch is just crazy. A lot of people would thank you. I bet that's the first time anyone showed some sort of kindness to her and instead of thanking you, she reacted in a differnt way. |
I had the opposite happen to me the other day Been taught as a child that you should hold the door for anyone; which I still do. But as I was leaving Richmond Center last week, I heard a woman bitching at a man about the fact that females can take care of themselves and they can shatter the glass ceiling if they wanted to. After hearing that I decided that I won't hold the door for her as I dont want to get an ass chewing like the previous man did. I open the door but only just enough so I can squeek by. As the door is closing the woman walks into the door with the "thud" I look around and the woman glares at me and launches into a rant about all males are assholes and do not treat females properly. The man she previously chewed out and I changed glances and we were both :seriously: The best part was the other man then said matter of factly, "the glass door represents the glass ceiling that holds bitches like you away from ever progressing" |

I usually hold doors open for people as it's just common courtesy. What pisses me off is when you open the door for you to go through first (then thinking you will hold the door open for anyone who is behind you with a quick glance) and some bitch just walks straight through without a thanks or even a look back as if you are a doorman opening it for her. |
Fuck, I remember 2 years back I was holding a door open behind me for a handicapped person in a wheel chair... I held it open he said "What are you doing? Just because I am handicapped you think I can't open my fucking door?" And then he called me a fucking prick... Man was I pissed. |
^ A lot of handicapped individuals have very strong willpower. These are the same people that push you back when they fall and you rush to try and get them up, implying 'I got this okay, shit' exhibit A (yes from a TV show, but it's pretty accurate) |

If someone is walking behind me or in front of me (while i'm exiting and they are about to enter), I would open the door for them, man or woman. |
let's just put it this way, some people are full of themselves. they cant see past their own over inflated egos. everything someone does for (or not for) them, they link it to some personal issue/insecurity. whether it be disabled people, feminists, or whatever. |
I still do it out of courtesy |
I usually get a small smile or a thanks when holding doors for people. Haven't ran into someone having a bad hair day yet :fullofwin: oh shit 500th post! |
Haven't had anything like that happen to me, but I've had a few people (I don't just hold doors open only for women, I do it equally if there's someone a reasonable distance behind me) just walk by and walk off... Being the easily frustrated guy that I am, I give em a sarcastic "you're welcome" and the finger when they turn back. Call me an asshole, but I don't have the patience to seem like someone else's bitch when I'm trying to be courteous. |
I held the door open for someone today, he was talking on his phone and didn't even give a thank you nod. Asshole. On a side note, I have never been verbally attacked by a raging woman about feminist stuff. |
I am courteous to other people, but half the time I have a psycho smile like I'm going to kill someone so most people tend avoid me. |
|
^LOL anyone got full vid? |
i haven't read the thread yet, but here's what happened to me a couple of days ago. i had just opened up a door (which requires a key card) and checked behind me like usual to see if anyone is coming. i saw this middle aged white lady carrying two cups of coffee not far behind me. so, of course, i held the door open for her. but get this, she didn't even fucking look at me, let alone acknowledge what i had done for her or thank me. seriously, wtf? :seriously: |
