Well lets just say the kinda chick that wont thank you isn't the kinda chick u want to date anyways. So when one does thank you.....

crazyazn 07-18-2011 01:07 AM

Should've yelled "Thank you Captain Obvious!" and saluted her when she said she can open her own doors

When I open doors for people, I do it out of courtesy because that's what my parents/grandparents taught me to do. I don't understand why people get so offended when they don't get acknowledged.

The thing that really peeves me are those people who are really far away, and when they notice that you are about to let go of the doors, they start sprinting towards the door.

Cman333 07-18-2011 11:22 AM

Weird, I just hold the door open regardless of men or women. I rarely get thank you's but I dunno. Force of habit. If I get bitched out, I would just ream out the feminist whore.

SAME shit happened to me in richmond two weeks ago. Me and two friends are walking out of an apartment building, and my friend holds open the door for an older chinese lady who is waiting to use her fob key to get in. Instead of a thank you, the bitch goes, "i can open the door myself, dont be so rude", in the snottiest manner possible. What surprised me even more was her english which was spot on perfect..

Like..... wtf... lol

AzNightmare 07-18-2011 12:15 PM

I'm surprised you stood there for 30 seconds listening to her.
I never actually hold the door open... as in letting someone go in first.
I occasionally go through the door, and maybe hold it behind me,
prolonging it from closing for the person walking behind me.

Interestingly enough, about a month ago, I was walking into a building with glass doors on a sunny day.
I clearly could see no one was behind me from the door reflection. So I entered through the building...
about 10 steps later, some old lady in her 60s or 70s ninja'd me from nowhere, and started bitching.
"Why did you slam the door on me? You young people should know some manners to hold the door for people"

By reaction, I just said "oh sorry..." in my head I was thinking. WTF? where you come from?!!!

Obviously there's only one explanation.

She was a vampire.

A vampire ninja.

i haven't read the thread yet, but here's what happened to me a couple of days ago.

i had just opened up a door (which requires a key card) and checked behind me like usual to see if anyone is coming. i saw this middle aged white lady carrying two cups of coffee not far behind me. so, of course, i held the door open for her. but get this, she didn't even fucking look at me, let alone acknowledge what i had done for her or thank me.

seriously, wtf?
:seriously:

Should of tripped her!! ^^

Phil@rise 07-19-2011 09:55 AM

I open all doors building or car for women and if they bitch I close it in their face. Why cus thats what I'd do to a dude that bitched bout me opening the door for them.

hypediss 07-19-2011 10:00 AM

next time tell her to calm down....

head back to the kitchen and make her man a sandwich :fullofwin:

gdoh 07-19-2011 10:12 AM

i do not hold the door open for certain ethnic groups because they do not say a simple "thank you" so why should i waste my time/effort how ever small it may be to hold the door open for you if it goes unappreciated

Jsunu 07-19-2011 10:12 AM

Meh, they are the type of people who would bitch if you don't open the door for them. Its a lose-lose for bitchy self-centered people.

Presto 07-19-2011 11:11 AM

I hold open doors and elevators all the time. It's just an automatic reaction. If people acknowledge my action. Great. If they don't. Whatever. I'm not looking for appreciation. I'm just trying to practice common courtesies, and not be a self-centered dickhead.

Greenstoner 07-19-2011 11:27 AM

yo, krama pays off

i open a door for a couple when i was at vegas, that drunk fucker tips me 20 bucks

will068 07-19-2011 11:43 AM

Happened to me in my old work place and one of the butch Managers. She didn't yell, although she did state that as a woman, she can open the door herself.

I told her "As a man, I was raised to be chivalrous to women. That means, opening doors, not hitting women, and when I have a wife and a lot of kids, taking care of them to the best of my ability. That's how my mother raised me".

She was like "oh, you have a good mom"...

Graeme S 07-19-2011 03:26 PM

Same thing happened to me once. I was walking towards the doors at the place where I work; the doors are glass. I saw a girl behind me, so I opened the door and stepped off to the side to let her go through first, just 'cause I'd been having a good day to that point. Suddenly, she starts yelling at me: "What do you think you're doing?! You think that just because I'm a woman I can't open a door? It's pigs like you that think women still belong in the kitchen with bare feet!" and then stormed through the still open door. I just sort of stood there for a few seconds, not sure what to do or what to think. So I walk into my building and towards the elevator where she was waiting too. I stood just a bit off to the side, and smiled. Rode the elevator up with her and told her to have a good day.

Assholes seethe even more when you're nice to them. It hasn't stopped me from opening doors for girls; some bitches just be crazy yo.

This. I just hold it because it's just a habit, most of the time people say thank you to me but if they don't I don't care. No loss of karma for being courteous.
