Well, I guess I'll just resort to retentions through Telus then. Posted via RS Mobile |
I WILL be switching to WIND ...so question is process. My ROGERS contract ends Sept 29th .... so.. from what I can figure out, I go to WIND and put in the 'number port' request and they take care of it all. I DONT want to let ROGERS know i'm terminating my service or else I may lose my number. So...when do I go see WIND? a few days before the contract ends OR wait till contract is completely over? |

anyone want wind number with $300 credits of add ons msg me I tried wind and where I work and live doesnt have reception. has service until october 24th |
switched to WIND yesterday. Found a dead zone at my parents home in North Delta around 117th St and 7700 block. works fine in the surrey newton area so far... not so good in Massey Tunnel ..haven't tried in basements or elevators yet. ISSUE #1: picture mms messaging is inconsistent. initially, the WIND REP who setup my iphone5 plugged in the wrong proxy information... I corrected it and was able to send out photos via mms. However, on some occasions..i would receive a photo but get the message : A Picture/Video Message! A media has been removed. EDIT: EDIT: Wind Mobile Support Response to above issue after verifying my APN settings: These are the correct settings for your device. There is not a size limit for the incoming MMS, however as it is not a WIND branded device we cannot offer proper troubleshooting. I would recommend having the sender compress the file prior to sending it to you. We apologize for the inconvenience. |
I switched over to wind. My phone is capable of LTE but I dont get LTE signal with wind. Running ookla speed test the results were: Ping: 136ms Down: 400.5kB/s Up: 10kB/s I'm sitting beside a window at BCIT. I'm not gonna lie, its pretty slow sometimes but before when I was with Fido I keep on going over my 1GB limit so "Unlimited (10GB)" for $30 bucks a month I'm not gonna complain. I usually stay around Vancouver, Burnaby, and Richmond so I didn't really get any out of service problems. |
Issue 2 : iMessage Ok, so it appears iMessage is still limited to your email address and not phone number. You can enable iMessage and it will remain on "waiting for activation" however it will work with the email address you chose for iMessage. It will NOT work with your phone number. As an experiment, I took my wife's iPhone on Rogers...sent a photo to my Wind phone number - it was undeliverable. Resent the photo to my iMessage email and it was delivered and viewed successfully on my phone. I tried to send myself a photo to see if that would kick start it like in previous postings from other users ..so I sent an image from my phone number to my phone number and it worked. But then tried sending an image from my wife's Rogers phone to my phone number and it didn't work - failed to send. So in conclusion, this is definitely something WIND has to do on their end. |
:lol People still use mms? |
for current user how are receptions in malls and restaurant? I m thinking of making the switch from roger, they are too expensive. |

It's a much better gauge to see what area you're in rather than what specific type of location you're going to frequent. I mean, what's different from a restaurant and house? Or a restaurant in a mall? |
