Parcel Receiving at Bellingham

looking to get some power tools from US.
anyone have experience with any receivers in bellingham?
Seems like Pak Mail is popular and has decent reviews. Any similar stores?

not interested in picking up from pt roberts (yes it's closer)

bcrdukes 07-25-2011 04:07 PM

Bellingham?

Why not Blaine? Lots of choices there.

1exotic 07-25-2011 04:09 PM

At Point Roberts you usually don't get taxed at customs assuming it isn't a big purchase... should keep that in mind.

I drive there all the way from Coquitlam and always worth it.

mmmk 07-25-2011 04:13 PM

OP, I think you're thinking of Blaine or Point Roberts.

twitchyzero 07-25-2011 05:08 PM

well i go bellingham each month so it's more convenient..but I guess blaine works usualy route thru pacific X-ing

GLOW 07-25-2011 05:30 PM

I use hagen's of blaine. but ever since they implemented a $10/year membership fee on top of their normal fees, they are not as cheap compared to other companies in blaine

smaggs 07-25-2011 06:49 PM

Ah yes. About time we had another one of these threads this month.

+1 for Hagens

twitchyzero 07-25-2011 07:57 PM

sorry..i did search first and i thought they were all for pt roberts..not sure why blaine didn't cross my mind.

I dug through the old threads and it seems as if the security issues have been resolved. But none of the threads mentioned which place in Blaine doesn't charge annual fees (for now it's just a one time thing for me)

+1 for hagens

GLOW 07-25-2011 08:09 PM

hagen's does membership now, as does i think all other places, but if you only want to do a 1 time shot, they allow you to do it if you dont want to join the membership i believe. there is an additional fee on top of the receiving fee, which basically makes the cost double. so if it's $2.50 to receive and you're not a member and want to do a 1 time thing, it will be $5.00. check out their website for more details.

+1 for hagens, although im against their new membership fee
theres that one cute girl that works there once in a while too :woot2:

cdizzle_996 07-25-2011 08:52 PM

For Bellingham, I use Shiphappens. I've been using them for years without issue.

silva95teg 07-25-2011 09:58 PM

I use mailboxes international in blaine.

"Have you seen my package?"
or
"Are you holding on to my package?"

:troll:

rocksforsale 07-26-2011 02:41 PM

^LOL ill be sure to use that next time

s300ae 07-26-2011 05:38 PM

^^ I make sure my packages arrive with the biggest box possible, so the cute girl ask, "is this your BIG package?"

And then I make her open it!

I think all the places are charging the annual fee. I just noticed the other day that my usual place (Security Mail Services) was doing the same thing. (I overheard them as a new person was signing up). $10/year registration (it was $10 lifetime before).

SSM_DC5 10-25-2011 09:20 PM

Bumping this back up for more up to date information.

I don't know when this change was made, but Hagen's now charges $2.50 on top of the $5 for non-members for email notification when your package arrives. It's time to look into a cheaper alternative......

Anyone know what the rates are at Security Mail Services and mailboxes international?

XplicitLuder 10-25-2011 09:21 PM

i know european used to use Can-Amber @ Blaine for shipping, it was hella cheap IIRC! contact him perhaps ?

1exotic 10-25-2011 09:24 PM

I use this company if I'm not shipping to Point Roberts:
Can Amer Freight - Warehousing and Freight Services in Blaine, WA

You don't need to be a member. Just send there and go pick up. Just track your package...
