i bought a michelin all aluminum low profile jack ~6 years ago. it's what i would call my workhorse jack. its i high end piece that isn't made anymore to my knowledge but it's made in china. one pump to seat ftw. if i could find another one i would buy one in a heart beat. they used to sell at canadian tire for 300. now the michelin stuff they sell is just run of the mill stuff. http://img108.imageshack.us/img108/6...cc3443dbk9.jpg |
So I ended up getting this: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...r/7e006b41.jpg $89 on sale at KMS. this thing is solid. It looks like it can take a beating. It's low pro and racing style. Only con is it weighs 38kg. Also got two jack stands for $15. Lowered my car with it and so far really impressed. Posted via RS Mobile |

There is also a 20% off coupon too. Not sure if you can stack coupons though. |
I ripped out a page for the $60 coupon from the back of an Import Tuner. this was in the waiting area of a car wash place I went to. I will be heading to Harbor Freight tools this Friday. I'll let you guys know how it goes? haha |

BUT.... its light and nice for quick jobs to get the car up in the air and put it on jackstands. nice to move around and you can carry it with 1 hand, if a need to help a friend with a flat on the road somewhere thats my go to jack ps. im talking about the blue princess auto jack in case the picture in the quote confuses anyone |
on the topic of jacks, would someone please recommend me a jack for mid-size suvs' ie pilot, x5 etc. |
The one S300ae bought from KMS tools is really good. It is rated for 3 tons which is more than enough for mid-sized suv's. |
Any comments on the jack stands in the car and driver magazine? It's 12.99 for the pair. And a torque wrench for 9.99 :troll: Posted via RS Mobile |
