offleash dog beaches

any good off leash dog beaches that you guys been to in the vancouver area?

FI-Z33 07-26-2011 10:40 AM

idk about vancouver but in richmond there's one that's pretty good called macdonald beach (next to iona beach)

MacDonald beach as the previous poster listed is quite honestly the best one for dogs. Just keep an eye out for the tides when you venture farther down the beach (you'll see when you get there).

at macdonald beach there are also trails for you to walk your dog and a huge grass area for them to run around in so it's easy for you to keep an eye on your dog

my boxer is still a puppy (1 year old) and he runs like CRAZY. It's always hard for me to catch up with him or leash him up...but a good thing is that there's ALWAYS other dogs there and he somehow chooses one specific dog to follow for the whole duration he's there (it's kinda cute :P)

thanks for the suggestion, ill check it out when i get the chance,

any others? i live in coquitlam btw

Spanish Bank is ok on weekdays. The dog beach is at the very end (the last parking lot). I wouldn't bother on weekend as it's crowded. Make sure you do supervise your pouch though as there're always big dogs there and some of them like to play rough.

Come in the afternoon when the tide is low and reveal amazing stretches of beaches.

does it have to be a beach? there an offleash park for dogs in burnaby that's pretty good...it's big enough for them to run around and small enough for you to keep an eye on them...oh and it's fenced off

Phil@rise 07-26-2011 01:21 PM

Macdonald or Triangle beach are the ones I go to, to let my boys run free

604nguyen 07-26-2011 02:00 PM

well ive been to many off leash parks in the burnaby/coquitlam area.

just wanted to bring my dog to somewhere different, my frenchie hasnt seen water yet, lol

also a good one at the very south end of No.3 rd in richmond. when you hit the end, pull in to the left parking area and the dog park is on the left. lots of smaller dogs there compared to mcdonald beach
