Honestly... you don't need to make a thread for this.
Unless this is a lighting/home decor forum (which it's not), you won't be getting much help,
simply because none of us cares about such minor things like what's the best kind of lamp.
A lamp is a lamp. It has a bulb and it shines.

Any lamp with a bulb that shines downward will do. And any style/design will do if it's what you like.

Your current lamps are probably just the ones that shine up on the ceiling to light up an entire room. So that's why they aren't bright enough.
And no, lamps that shine down won't be shining on your face unless you're lying down on the couch.

Just get a floor lamp that is adjustable so that you can angle the light in order to suit your lighting needs for reading.... also I thought this was common sense?!?!

Reading on a tablet for hours is bad for your eyes.

Go to Rona, Zeller, Sears, Canadian Tire or any other home hardware store and ask the guy in the lighting section for help on good styles ie. what's popular.

turn on your god damn light switch when u enter the room. Why u need style for a lamp? u gonna look at it while u read?

midnight_r 08-04-2011 07:15 PM

make your girl hold a flashlight while you read, unless shes busy making you 3 course dinner.

Ronin 08-04-2011 07:23 PM

What the hell? Buy a lamp. Go look at one you think looks cool and buy it. Do you live in total darkness or something?

...are you Batman?

btw does that lower light sometimes shine in your face??

No it doesn't shine in your face, it has a rounded cover and the arm is flexible to move up/ down - however you like.

I have it positioned to read when I'm in bed so on the couch, adjust accordingly.

Hope this helps!

I have a lamp, now I need a couch. What's a good couch everyone uses to sit on?

Or should I make a new thread?
