	   | Do you read books/newspaper/magazines on the couch?

Looking to buy a lamp so I can read while on the couch, instead of reading on the table.
If you do read on the couch, kindly post a pic so I know what type of lamp to buy.

 Thanks!

			..............Wat?
you need help buying a fucking lamp? It plugs into the wall and should be able to fit a bulb. Match those criteria and you shall be happy. Posted via RS Mobile | | | | | 08-03-2011, 11:51 PM | #3 | | Banned (ABWS)

im assuming by your screen name that you go to SFU. and at this point in life you still need to ask this kind of question? you probably shouldn't be attending to SFU then.

I've got stupid questions too sometimes. Please don't be a troll. I'd hate to be caught feeding the troll.
How much money do you have? Do you have a budget limit?
Does style/aesthetics come into consideration or is this about about functionality?
How much light output do you need? Augmenting daylight? Augmenting ceiling light? Is this your only source of light for reading?
Anyways, an LED-based reading lamp isn't going to do crap for you.
Don't get one of these:
Try to get something that uses standard size Edison E26 socket bulbs. That way, you can load it with proper high wattage full-spectrum bulbs. Your ideal choice would be to find something wall-mounted, triple articulation with multiple bulbs. That way you can position it so the light is surrounds you from various angles. That will give you the most even lighting and the least amount of eye fatigue.
Am I a lighting engineer? No.
I'm just a bit of a gear whore. I use CFL 100-watt equivilant full spectrum lights in all my potlights.
Also, seriously dude. If you go to SFU, you fail at life.
I'm an old college dropout, I wasn't born in the age of broadband. Google keyword searches should be coded into your DNA, not mine.

I bought this one for the bedroom: 2-Head Torchiere Lamp | Canadian Tire
But it was on sale $19.99 when I bought it, it's good cause you have the high (Big light)/ low (Little light) option. (turn on both when you need a lot of light (2 settings) or just the lower one when you want to read in bed.
And something similar to this at LD for the living room/ dining room area: 0 Globe Energy Star Floor Lamp - 69.5inch ;Homeware ;Home Decor ;London Drugs
It was red (other colors Blue and Yellow) and on sale for like $6.99 or something like that. Energy efficient too. Hope this helps!
Give the OP a break, I do too sometimes have stupid questions and/ or new threads I want to post about and I think twice about it so people don't fail me and I don't even "post" that often. That's all.

get one of those that clips onto the book itself, the battery powered LED ones, therefore you can read where ever the fuck you want without having to carry around a lamp
