RIM has decided to help the Police to aid in arrests , but TeaMp0isoN says fuck off and hacks Blackberry's blog saying this:

Quote:

Dear Rim;

You Will _NOT_ assist the UK Police because if u do innocent members of the public who were at the wrong place at the wrong time and owned a blackberry will get charged for no reason at all, the Police are looking to arrest as many people as possible to save themselves from embarrassment…. if you do assist the police by giving them chat logs, gps locations, customer information & access to peoples BlackBerryMessengers you will regret it, we have access to your database which includes your employees information; e.g – Addresses, Names, Phone Numbers etc. – now if u assist the police, we _WILL_ make this information public and pass it onto rioters…. do you really want a bunch of angry youths on your employees doorsteps? Think about it…. and don’t think that the police will protect your employees, the police can’t protect themselves let alone protect others….. if you make the wrong choice your database will be made public, save yourself the embarrassment and make the right choice. don’t be a puppet..

p.s – we do not condone in innocent people being attacked in these riots nor do we condone in small businesses being looted, but we are all for the rioters that are engaging in attacks on the police and government…. and before anyone says “the blackberry employees are innocent” no they are not! They are the ones that would be assisting the police

and it isn't - its a pic from the recent royal wedding. It was suggested that Vancouver is off the hook for its riot now with this larger London riot. I was jokingly suggesting that perhaps, with the evidence of Canuck fans existing in London, that they might have been involved in these riots as well.

With riots spreading from London to other cities in the UK, sales of aluminum baseball bats on Amazon.com's UK website have risen an astonishing 6,000%.

And no, the British haven't suddenly developed a love for America's national pastime. While the Rucanor aluminum bat (a steal at £17.15) is sitting proudly atop Amazon's list of "Movers and Shakers", the "Military Police Telescopic Tonfa" occupying the #2 spot paints a frightening picture of the current situation.

The Mirror notes that "there are a total of seven different kinds of baseball bats" in the list's top ten

However, Gizmodo points out that the "Zumba DVD workout set is up 342 per cent, which probably isn't related" to the riots.

How are people this fucking stupid? The reason this riot started is because a guy shot a policeman, and the policeman naturally fires back, naturally. I mean, :seriously:?

This video made me just ... They either need to call the army in, or start firing shots, in the rioters' minds i'm thinking they won't stop until all cops are dead i'm guessing? Since this is the reason why they're rioting... over one fucking incident

Teh Doucher 08-09-2011 10:43 AM

civil unrest is going on in so many parts of the world...

12/12/12 seems that much realer.

jk. riots are fucked up though. but there doesn't seem to be one solid story on what happened with the suspect though.. one story says he did fire and the other story doesn't. so..

Even the seagulls are joining in on the looting.

My friend's dad works in a 24hr Tesco in London. Apparently last night at around 2am, the employees see a group of chavs moving in towards the tesco, they run into the office and lock the door. the group loots the tesco, empties the registers and trashes the place.

As soon as the police took one step back, the rioters knew they had the upper hand. Why did the cops retreat in the first place? The one cop charged a rioter in the beginning, but that was it. My guess is the cops were told by their superiors to retreat. Lame.

The bullet that hit the cop was police issue from what I understand. The guy was unarmed.

all of the UK is a ghetto even the wealthy areas... heck the biggest welfare cheque collector lives in the royal palace ;)

Im not that surprised that the rioting has actually grown; for some back story

riots have been going on in the UK for a long time there's always an excuse some that make sense (wars, inflation, etc) some that don't (like a soccer game loss)

the anger against police has been brewing, exploding, for some time especially since the terrorism act where ordinary citizens/tourists get hassled and searched simply for standing around a govt. building too long or taking pictures

this issue, for what sounds like an execution, is certainly going to be an excuse to vent all anger @ police

The UK has historical unemployment at the moment and they're in as bad or worse shape than the states atm. On top of that their country just spent a boat load of cash on a royal wedding, is going to spend more on the olympics and then later on the royal jubilee.

They also have a major education crisis, with education and literacy rates particularly amongst boys falling rapidly.

Acts of terrorism have got people freightened and on edge.

This leads to a generation of young people who all around pretty much seem to feel everything is hopeless. :(

BBC News - London riots: Timeline and map of violence

StylinRed 08-09-2011 03:47 PM

wow... racist Sun News is blaming Blacks for the riots and then saying "no racist" lol

saying Blacks are always violent ever since they got into Tottenham and causing all sorts of problems

then for the White rioters they say that they're not violent they just came in after the violence was done to mimic the blacks (so its the blacks fault for making whites act like violent goofs)

There is no evidence Mark Duggan opened fire at police before being shot dead by a firearms officer, the Independent Police Complaints Commission has said.

Amazingly London police and England security forces do not have water cannons, LRAD or ADS options, shocking especially with Olympic security preparations underway. They don't even have a specialized crowd control/riot force. Their police officers don't even have much experience with, and a limited amount of supplies of ARWEN or tear gas options, hell most of their regular police officers don't even carry firearms.

I've put together a security report as a private contractor before for an event in London and water cannon options can be brought in from Ireland, LRAD can be brought in from France and ADS option can be brought in from the US base in Ramstein. It's time to go on the offensive, these riots are getting way out of hand and London's regular police forces are not properly equipped enough to deal with sustained riots of this size. Their culture to policing is extremely passive (ie... police officers not carrying firearms, under equipped). It's time to borrow water cannons from Ireland and the use of ARWEN guns with rubber ammunition with these riots continuing and growing.

Clearly its evident that the officer was wrong in his account of what happened pertaining to the suspect opening fire, looks pretty messed up at this time. However, personally I'll withhold judgement until the witness gives his side of the story, the suspect did have a pistol on him and if he did raise it towards the officer, even without firing, I would say it was a justified shooting, if not, then a clear fuck up.

StylinRed 08-09-2011 09:13 PM

i think the results of the investigation wont do much in regards to the rioting as the damage has been done (to public perception and material)

side note

Chilean students have been protesting/rioting for weeks (about the education system) it sounds by this article

and clashing with police who are using water cannons
