I know an EMT who used to work in the Chicago area who responded to a call like this one in Kelowna. The target lived, and while treating him in the back of the ambulance another man walked up behind it, pulled a gun, and unloaded. The man the EMT's were trying to save was killed, the EMT I know took shots in the back and was critical for a couple days, and the other was killed. Pretty brutal.

That being said, I party every weekend, usually at the same places they do, and Ive never once run into a situation with any of them.

The only time they ever really stand out is when they are trying to load up one of their 40 foot Eliminator boats at the busiest boat launch in town and cant even get the thing to the ramp

The AB guys are all drunk as sh!t; the other guys are on point enough to know what is going on around them.

Also the 'other' guys will generally have a few skinny/non-white dudes mixed in, that clearly aren't grinding it out on the rigs.

While I feel sorry for someone who no longer can do simple tasks for the rest of their life let alone walk, she made the judgement call by associating herself with these kinds of people.

This is no different than getting into a car with someone you know has been drinking and ending up in a car accident leaving you quadriplegic.
