Most, if not all, places will not let you buy gift cards of any kind with a discount or promotional offer.

Buying and using are two different things.

Imagine if they did? You'd basically be getting $40 on every hundred.

Awsome sale tonnes of good deals especially using the $10 off and buying the $100 GC's, as well my buddy bought the GC at the counter and got the free 20 and then in the same transaction used it to pay for the jacket

I bought a $100 GC and picked up a Dakota fleece lined hooded jacket that was regular price $59.99 and a 3 pack of wool socks that was listed at 24.99 together after taxes for $62

A buddy of mine got the double kneed carhart work pants in black for $41 and another guy got Highest model Dakota hoodie really heavy insulated with the breathable mesh lining listed at $100 for 81 and he didn't have the $10 off card

Which store? Your first friend totally lucked out cause it says right on the $20 card that it isn't valid til Dec.1.

The last guy kinda got screwed cause they usually give you the $10 off even if you forget to bring the card.

At least the $38 you have left on your GC plus the $20 can get you something for $68. Why the extra $10? There's another $10 card available (valid from Dec.26-Jan.31) - got in on our way out of the store.

Yea I got two of them one for buying the GC and one for using it lol

Gonna buy a new pair of boots in December, if I had more money I'd have bought like $300 for sure

Oh and the part about my friend using the GC it was the $100 not the $20

It looks like they have these 20% off sales once a month. I'm pretty confident they will have one on Boxing Day.

God damm I could use so much stuff from there. In Regina and although last week wasn't so bad it's going to get real cold up in here soon.

Anyway, Saturday, Dec 10th is yet another 20% off everything in the store sale (lowest tcketed price). Even industrial shit. Businesses must be desparate for sales. I bet Superstore will have a no tax sale at least one more time before XMas.

Apparently, they are not supposed to layer discounts, but others have been successful, including me. Depends on the person, I guess.

No wonder the latest $10off card doesn't start til Dec.26. Good thing I still have 2 $20 Holiday Bonus Cards.

I have lots of December $10 off coupons. Every time I go to a Marks, I grab a handful of the coupons left at the front of the store. They are always for the next month. Pays to stay alert.

Got a little surprise in the mail today. A $50.00 Canadian Tire gift card. While at Mark's, about a month ago, I saw these cool looking game pieces that had a red, see-through plastic window on it. The promotion was called, "Canadian Tire Helping Hand Contest." There were a good number of these just sitting there. I asked what they were and girl at the till goes, "Some contest." I asked if I could have more than one and she said, "Go hard." Last time a chick said that to me I.......... anyway I took about a dozen, LOL. When I got home I went on line to see I could win something. Lo and behold, I won 50 bucks.

I have about a dozen chances at the $5000.00 grand prize. Once in a while, I get lucky. I love Mark's.

Marks is having their 20% off everything in their store sale this Thursday. I've been waiting for this annual September event. My steel toe shoes are barely holding together - need new ones.

Gonna stack my $10 off $50 card on top of the 20% off.

No, you have to get it in the store. Unfortunately, they only give you next month's card. That's why I get a few every month for the next month.

Sometimes they attach the card on the front page of their flyer which is in the community paper (Vancouver Courier, Burnaby Now, etc.)

When you do get something at Mark's, look on the back of the receipt for survey offer. 10 bucks off 40 dollars worth of stuff. The code you get is the same for everyone, so if someone knows it, pass it along. I haven't bought anything from Mark's in a while, so no receipt.

I was in a Marks Work Wearhouse location yesterday getting November's $10.00 off card.

According to the manager, the next 20% off the entire store sale is November 23rd, 2013.

Most likely the last one before Christmas. Then it's the huge Boxing Week sale. I hope they have the gift card promo again this year.

Can you stack the 10 off with the 20%? I've had mixed results with that

i haven't read the entire thread, but i wanted to ask if anyone has a favorite marks store that has good stock? i went to the one near rupert and pickings are not good. i used to have better luck at the brentwood location before they closed it down :(

how about the one inside Kingsgate Mall

i completely forgot about that one. it's in a mini mall? i will give it a try when i'm in the neighborhood... my work gear is getting worn out.
