bypass internet censorship (not work related)

Ill be visiting china for about a month and we all know the great firewall of china blocks everything, and i mean EVERYTHING, which mean having internet access there = no internet access. SO computer gurus, what is the easiest way to bypass the censorship and gain access to the REAL internet while im there?

TIA

I'm currently using Hot Spot Shield on a MAC. Seems to be working fine, but it does require you to download the program and run it each time you want to bypass the great firewall. It's not the best as it intermittently cuts off, but it's free :).

P.s. I'm in Guangzhou and it works fine for YouTube and Facebook.

subscribe to a VPN service, preferably in Hong Kong. As as IT isn't blocked, your Internet will be relatively normal.

You forgot to mention that China blocks almost all porn sites.

Thank God for RS.

if you are still in school and they offer off-campus connections, it will probably work.

I've been told UBC VPN works in China

China doesn't block Hotmail or Google.

I used VPN On Demand. It's free (for now) and easy to get with no bandwidth restrictions. I use it for my hulu fix.
