Just upgraded my camera to 7D, and I'm planning to get a longer ranged telephoto lens. Any good recommendations guys? I'm thinking something around 200-300mm. I'm currently using a 17-70mm sigma, this lens is versatile but limited to what i like shooting.
The 70–300 l looks interesting. Too bad its like 1400. 70–200 f4 l is a good choice too. But yeah there's a stickied thread for these types of questions.
Yeah, the Canon 70-200 f4L non-IS is a great choice. For a little more, you can either get the IS version of that lens, the 70-200 f2.8L non-IS or get the new 70-300L which is super sharp, very close to the 70-200 f4.
Then there are the non-L, consumer level lenses like the 75-300 USM or 100-300mm, but I'm personally not sure how good they are.
