HELP: Cheap Flights to Asia closer to the date

I'm looking to fly out to HK in the next two weeks.

I know I missed the 30% sale for Air Canada and I'm kicking myself!

Do you guys think ticket prices will go down after Labour Day or go up?

I'm thinking about leaving second third week of September and the prices are pretty steady right now and seems to be a lot of seats left on most airlines. Should I wait or just Book?

Thxs in advance.

From my experience.... It gets more expensive when you get closer to the date of travel. I have never stood standby at the airport but im not sure if it will save you money. Just booked a flight to Osaka for 1300 for travel on the 14 th, not even going to chance waiting for the price to go down.

Other than the occasional "sale" here and there, plane ticket prices are pretty simple... peak or non-peak season.

Main questions to ask yourself would be
a) What is your budget?
b) Are you willing to pay more for better service?

Anyways if your destination is HK, the only 2 options you have (unless you want transit flights) would be Air Canada and Cathay Pacific.

a) around 1 G would be my budget but looking for direct only
b) reasonable service.... that's why I'm trying to avoid Air China, and China Airlines even though they are under 1 G

Well sir, by process of elimination, you have just indirectly decided that you are going to fly on Cathay Pacific... except that you're gonna have to up your budget... or use CX air miles if you have any

Just out of curiosity, may I ask why you're avoiding China Airline?

From my experiences with Cathay Pacific and also China Airlines, I find that I'm treated better on China Airlines.

Cathay Pacific and China Airlines are both Taiwan Companies by the way.
