How warm / insulated do the things have to be so I can survive a mountain day at Whistler etc? Any recommended brands?

i wear one of these and just my ski jacket and that's good enough for up to -15

I have a Bissell Powerforce. Got it for about $60 at walmart. If you're not looking for anything special, mine is great. I use it for the floors as well as cleaning out the animal cages.

Doesn't seem like enough lights to be legit, I'd call the VPD/RCMP for sure.

in for response from VPD
definitely looks like an impersonator

MG1, yeah i was using it with a bag and HEPA filters
it was a good vacuum and had pretty much everything i could want for $30

Will probably go for another canister style/shopvac style cus it's got attachments that make it easier to vacuum stairs. Fucking carpeted stairs...i fucking hate them, they're a fucking pain in the ass to clean. Would probably make a good summer project to work on.

So, my mother-in-law is getting pretty old. She has a freezer full of sockeye salmon. Frozen whole. She says they're pretty old, but I checked last night and they look fine - on the outside. The only way to see if they're not freezer burned is to thaw them. I'm not going to do that, because then I have to dress it and so on. If someone wants to check one out and it is good, you can have the rest of them. Probably 12 large wild sockeye from the mouth of the Fraser (Adams River run). Hand picked and frozen by me on the day or after the day they were caught. I only get sockeye during the Adams River Run years. So they could be 4, 8, or 12 years old. I doubt 16 years, but who knows?

She just wants them out. It would be a shame to throw them out. If nobody wants them, I'll offer it to a mink farm or something........... oh, I hate waste.

RS BBQ!?!?!?!

If you only want one, that's okay, too. You try it and if you stop posting in a day or two, we'll know why, Gulolololololol. If it's good, then everybody else can have one until they're gone. First person to reply or send PM get's choice of taking one, some, or all.

BTW, when I say whole, I mean it has everything on..... not spayed, neutered or otherwise (head, fins, and tail on). Find some roe as a bonus, although sockeye roe is not as good as chum roe.

Disclaimer: Not responsible for death or sickness through consumption of said fish. Take as is. Bait?

For my sandwiches, I've been buying larger pieces of ham and hand-slicing them instead of buying deli meat (saves quite a lot of money).

Can anyone recommend me a good solid knife? Or something that could help a noob cut thinner slices (electric knife, maybe?) Thought about getting a meat slicer as I've used them before, but it seems a bit overkill.

Hoo boy, hang on to your wallet. Check this thread out on RS: Where your knives at?

TL;DR - Victorinox Fibrox is always a solid buy, Tojiro DP if you want to get into Japanese steel knives

My wife used to make awesome candied salmon. So good that the natives wanted the recipe, lol. The secret is in the use of Mirin (cooking wine). Don't think natives ever used that in their recipes.

She also made salmon fish cakes to die for.

BTW, miscalculated the amount. Close to 30, so once murd0c get's his fill, the rest will be up for grabs.

An electric knife is a bit overkill. all you really need a sharp knife, check over at knifewear on main st. They have all sorts of knives to choose from and im pretty sure you'll find something you need.
