US hikers in Iranian jail

From vacation to years in Iranian prison, a look at hikers' ordeal - CNN.com

So it seems like they are going to be freed shortly after all this time, which is great.

I think out of all the prisons in the world, an Iranian prison would be one of the scariest to be in....however, I guess you could make the argument that of all places to go for a leisurely hike, the Iraq/Iran border would be the LAST place to do so...

Exactly. Which is why I don't feel sorry for them at all. Are people stupid or what? Americans? In Iran, or near it? Obviously it wouldn't end well.

Exactly. Unless they were just *very* naive. Either explanation is equally plausible.
