Here's my old Civic from 2007 that would scrape anything on the road. Car would actually throw out sparks with the crowns on Lougheed Highway and Kingsway for example. The car could actually go lower by about one more inch but then I wouldn't be able to get around town. It was a rolling VI and when that came, it went back to stock and it got sold. Looking back, this was my first attempt at the "stance game" and I must say, not too shabby of an attempt. :)

I'll start with current cause it's easier with my photobucket album
http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c6...9/f8ad20d5.jpg
Rubs like mad, scrapes on speedbumps. Meh.

http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c6...9/d8a41f23.jpg
Scraped speedbumps, sold it

http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c6...9/69dfee92.jpg
My FD, almost done (2j swap with single etc) second pic its jacked up but it was about 2" off the ground

http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c6...9/2b97de8f.jpg
My old sc400. Scraped like mad. Frame rails where scraped bad, got stuck in a mcdonalds drivethru

http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c6...9/7981a3b0.jpg
http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c6...9/79ec51b7.jpg
My old 240. Front lip was about 10-15mm off the ground. Used to scrape on everything. Smashed an oilpan drifting then linked the entire track at Redline before realizing that I had no oil pressure, ripped the swaybar off, bumper, lip... Everything. Miss it.

In my opinion some of the ultra-slammed, super-tire-stretch, tucked wheel cars look rediculous.

With adjustable coil-overs, is it practical to raise/lower your car for snow every winter? I know that each will require an alignment but if you just need it for a few weeks of snow I don't think the tires will wear out that quick.

depends how high you raise it really. if it's a small change, i wouldn't worry too much about it. if it's a drastic height difference i'd do an alignment. there are places out there that do alignments for an affordable price. you just need to call around and ask.

kgatz got sonned the fuck out lol

Exhaust at the downpipe was only about 1" off the ground. Scraped on flat all the time, actually continuously almost. The problem with these cars is that the frame is basically even with the rockers (the sides are lowest) so even though it's low it doesn't "look" slammed.

Then I smartened up

Vancouver sure is interesting for lowered cars... Lots of road construction going on lately which is not cool... I scrape lots. I have now scraped through the resonator in my exhaust and need a new one fitted.

Jgresch 10-04-2011 10:06 PM

I'm sure I'm getting close to having to replace my resonator

AVS_Racing 10-04-2011 10:13 PM

is anyone else hitting this wide ass patch of cut out road with a shitty repave job so its like 1-2 inches lower than the surrounding road, its on HW1 west bound somewhere between 1-2km after Gallardi exit?!?! its this section that is cut horizontally across all 3 lanes and there's no way to avoid it every time I cross that patch I hit something, and I hear a huge bang and I have no idea what it is cuz my car isn't that low. west bound has the same cut out patch but its been repaved and its much flatter (at least i don't hit anything) is it possible to complain to the city about something like this?

I've hit that patch once. End result was bent tie rods on my car. lol
