I guess you've never heard of or seen all the countless death row inmates who were found to be innocent and States like Illinois who imposed a moratorium on Capital Punishment since more than half the people on death row were found to be not guilty due to new evidence (other death row inmates didn't meet the deadline requirements to apply for new trials; cant recall entirely ill get more info when i wake up for you or u can google)

So why is it, that this man gets the death sentence for killing an officer, and those that have countless murders on their heads, rapists, and those who sexually assault children manage to get away with it, and end up in jail until bail or parole?
Hard not to feel angered about the ethics of that.

I completely agree that some of you in here are missing the point.. Sure I agree that he was the lowest type of scum, and we're better off without him, but remember this is the same justice system that protects both you and me (well not really us since we live in Canada, but you see my point =) ).

If that was you, a family member, or someone you knew, that was about to get executed, I guarantee you would certainly argue for a second look.
If someone is about to be executed, there should be a much more rigorous level of standards and scrutiny when it comes dealing with evidence and eyewitness testimony.

If justice is blind of bias and persuasion, then it should serve all of its citizen rightfully, regardless of how much of a piece of shit they are.

Even if he were to pass a test which was inadmissible in court, on the morning of his scheduled execution, who is to say he hasn’t spent the last 20 years convincing himself of his own innocence.

Also, no physical evidence? How about bullet casings on the scene that matched the ones from a shooting earlier in the day by Davis? Or the pair of shorts found in Davis’ washing machine with the dead cops blood on them which couldn’t be admitted in court because they were taken without a warrant. Yes, there was a lack of saliva or semen on the victim, as he was shot, not raped. But, explaining the details doesn’t make the case sound nearly as interesting.

This case was fought by the lawyers in court, and the politicians in the street. Personally I think this case is exactly opposite of what you say. It is a demonstration that the justice system does work, and is not easily influenced by a bunch of people with loud voices and no information.

RIP Troy.

Capital punishment should have 0% doubt.

don't they use the electrical chair or something, why lethal injection? :S
