normal operating temp for i5-760? 1 Attachment(s) case: apevia x-plorer Heatsink: stock Fans: Rear - 120mm Exhaust Top - 80mm Exhaust Side - 80mm Intake Front- X2 80mm Intake Graphics: GTS250 1GB I also put on new thermal paste 2 days ago, does it take time to to perform it's best? Edit:When i snapped the photos, i was also running a program that takes 895,984K memory. |
1 Attachment(s) CPU usage is high. |
55oC ish on my dads i5 760 |
is this thing overclocked? lol that's awfully high for a cpu even under usage.. my i7 930 overclocked to 4.2ghz is only running at like 55ish degrees under load.. |
not overlocked, is it because of the tower case or the new thermal compound needs time to perform it's best? Please advise. |
Make sure you seal the thermal grease correctly. All 4 pins are clip tight with the motherboard. A bit high for normal.. But I think the problem is that you're running a stock fan. Stock fan doesn't do so well. Investing in an aftermarket heatsink would be better than stock! |
thanks mate. Will this work fine? NCIX.com - Buy Corsair Cooling Air Series A50 Performance CPU Cooler LGA775 LGA1155 LGA1156 LGA1366 AM2 AM3 - Corsair - CAFA50 - in Canada I don't want to spend alot. |
Get the Cooler Master Hyper 212+ or Evo version. The former usually costs $20-25, but I dont know the Evo because its not released yet (only a few more days). And get rid of the Apevia junk man. There are so many better performing cases these days for 40-50 bucks. |
hahah i was warned about Apevia, i thought it was pretty nice that's why i got it. Guess I'll move on to another case. |
The A50 is a decent cooler. I run it on my i7 and I don't break 55c (OC 4.1Ghz running Prime95) |
I like the A50, but the down side is the heatsink is way too long to fit into my case. =/ |
