not overlocked, is it because of the tower case or the new thermal compound needs time to perform it's best? Please advise.

Make sure you seal the thermal grease correctly.
All 4 pins are clip tight with the motherboard.

A bit high for normal..
But I think the problem is that you're running a stock fan.
Stock fan doesn't do so well.

Investing in an aftermarket heatsink would be better than stock!

Get the Cooler Master Hyper 212+ or Evo version. The former usually costs $20-25, but I dont know the Evo because its not released yet (only a few more days).

And get rid of the Apevia junk man. There are so many better performing cases these days for 40-50 bucks.

The A50 is a decent cooler. I run it on my i7 and I don't break 55c (OC 4.1Ghz running Prime95)

I like the A50, but the down side is the heatsink is way too long to fit into my case. =/

The A50 is actually quite a small heatsink... if your case doesn't fit...

Time for a new one.
