Every day when you wake up in the morning search for new dates, within two-three weeks you'll be able get a new test most likely. That's what I've always done.

The reason they don't end the test if you've committed an automatic fail is because it gives them the opportunity to access the full range of your driving skills and identify all the areas where you need improvement, giving them the opportunity to fully prepare you for the next test. If you did a good job your probably not far off passing, good luck with round two!

Your hilarious. You did fail miserably don't they teach you the dangerous actions in your learner's book. If you did a dangerous action it's worse than failing for not shoulder checking fyi.

If it makes you feel any better, when I passed my class 7 back in 2001, the instructor forgot the mirror in my car.

True story.

I also failed for a "dangerous action" on the first try. Got passed because I was going too slow down a hill that curved left. Any DA is an auto fail. The person evaluating you won't tell you at any point if you have already failed, this is for their own safety in case some kid freaks shit.

Passed with flying colours my second try. I felt shitty after I failed though, it seemed like all my friends were getting their N's. If you really want to get your class 7 ASAP, go into the ICBC branch and tell the person at the desk you want to wait for a road test. If someone doesn't show up for theirs, you will get their slot. A few of my friends did that.

^ +1

I was late to my Class 5 test, and had my slot taken. I took the test 10 minutes after.

Also I failed my Class 7 once because it was foggy and raining shit, i was going 45 in a 50 zone. Everyone else was going no more than 50 and the guy failed me because I was going TOO SLOW.

It wasn't really a bad day, this is Vancouver being Vancouver. Rain and more rain.

The tips people give you, ie: 360 shoulder check, during the test. Do that sure, but after you pass please fucking continue doing that, please.

Other than that, good luck on second attempt

I thought I failed my first try because I was never asked to parallel park. Thought that was weird, other then that test was easy and simple. I was told that if you fail they simply ask you to park the car, whereas if you pass you gotta reverse park into the stall.

It differs by evaluator. When I passed, the guy said he knew I was a competent driver so I was allowed to just pull into a parking spot.

BTW, parking accounts for a very small part of the test, you really can't fail it overall even if you park like a fucktard.

Has anyone else ever failed? and do you book the next test in two weeks or do you come back in 2 weeks?

I don't think he's trolling you. I think he's trying to build up your confidence for next time. If that was the only thing that killed the exam for you, then you're doing great.

I was a nervous wreck when I did mine, no confidence, drove like a granny.
Still got a pass because the only "dangerous" thing I did was a lane change that might have been a bit tight @ my current skill level.

Lol i know how that feels.. rolled through a stop sign and i was apparently "over" the stop sign during my first try. Oh well managed to grab a second road test just over a month later. Didn't quite pass with flying colors (apparently schools in langley weren't on spring break anymore when i still was) but still passed

Please do not use the rain as an excuse... Use it as a learning tool. ALWAYS make sure before you do anything in the car. If you cant see any cars, WAIT for the light to change, Instructor wont fail you for this because of the weather condition. (But if its sunny and you just sat your fat ass there, thats a different story)

When u pull back to icbc, if they ask you to back in, you've passed. If they ask you to just park forward facing, you've failed.

To answer part of your question, you have to rebook, not show up.
When I did my test, i just drove with "better safe than sorry" in my head.
I didn't turn if I felt even if the oncoming car was a reasonable distance away, checked my mirrors whenever I could.

Nope this is a myth. Depends on the instructor cause I was asked to back-in even though I failed.

+1 on this. Some of my friends are afraid to drive in the rain because they don't have much experience. The only way to gain experience is to actually do it.

I think it was actually nice for the instructor to allow you to continue on doing the test. He could have told instantly failed you, and make you return back to the ICBC centre. Instead, you got to do to the whole test to have a feel of what it is like, and you got more practice from it as well.

Yep, show them what they want to see. Shoulder check + rear-view mirror check religiously, even if you're not switching lanes or turning. They won't be satisfied with a quick glance and will fail you. Also pay attention to your speed, yield when you have to/can and don't yield when you have the right of way, like left turn arrow. A failure to yield will most likely fail you. An unnecessary yield will only give you a warning. And don't ever try to overtake a bicycle/scooter by swerving.

I was failed once and was told "you drive like a normal guy driving on the street but this is a road test, not normal driving".

Like somebody above said, the tip is to waste time. Stay in the right lane at all times except for turning. Do not attempt to overtake.

School zone/park zone is easy. Every time they tell you to make a turn from a main road, scan for school zone signs.
