| Need new laptop 17" or bigger...which one?
Figured I would ask some non-sales people this question.
I'm in the market for a new laptop and wondering what I should be looking at.
I have had a Mac for many years and I love it but the screen is toast, fans are dead, cant run the new OS....its time for a new one.
I have considered getting another Mac but the only one I want would cost me close to $4000....for a laptop I can not justify that kind of price.
Here is what I use my computer for.
Photo editing/video editing
Writing
Surfing the internet
Music
These are the main things I use my laptop for. I need something that will run programs like Photoshop CS5 without being slow. I also need something with substantial storage as I keep all photos and videos on the hard drive.
It must have a 17" screen or larger....larger is prefered.
Can you guys recommend me some brands or models I should be looking at to fit my needs.

Do you need it to be portable?
If not so much... Asus G74. Beastly laptops. Asus G74-3DE - more expensive, top of the line model. ASUS G74-XC1 - less expensive version.
Even the less expensive one is still a beast.

go to ncix.ca or go to the store to ask for their advice... Most likely asus would be ur best bet... I own g53jw-a1 gaming laptop. But imo battery life sucks. Posted via RS Mobile |
