Dark Souls
 

Game just came out today, just picked it up after school and preparing myself for a long gaming session. I think I was looking forward to this game more than Skyrim.

Anyone else a fan of the first one?

i was suppose to pick my preorder today, but i have midterms this week. =(

first hour didn't disappoint so far, still epic gameplay

i bought the first one just yesterday. looking forward to dying often.

Oh god, bringing back the memories of Demon's Souls. I think I played about 2 hours and just shut down.

Might try this after my midterms this week. Looks interesting. :D

still have the first game sealed along with Valkyrie Chronicles...apparently they are considered very underrated PS3 exclusives :alone:

Got Rage instead, but after I'm finished Rage I'll move onto Dark Souls... Rage is great for anyone who's considering getting it. It's like Fallout meets Doom 3, at 60fps.

I borrowed that from Sashi. I fuckin hated it :lol

hahaha seems like it's either love or hate. just grab a nice shield and block or dodge roll everything!

it took me about 3 weeks to beat. apparently the hardest part is the first few hours so hang in there!

beat the first boss. great game so far.
i didnt find it that bad in terms of difficulty.
you just cant blindly run around corners and have to play cautiously.

Are the ones being sold in stores the collector's edition too? I know if you preorder it's automatically collector's edition.

and no collectors were being sold when i went to buy it on tues.

just beat the tarturus demon, but then proceeded to lose my humanity to the fire strike towards the undead parish =(

what level are you guys? and what do invest yer stats in for a warrior?

SL 43 now, but I was farming souls for some of it.

For melee I focus on getting 30 vit and 40 end first, 40 endurance gives u the stamina cap which is important for any char and well u need vit to survive a hit or two from the heavy hitters.

I also have 16 str n 15 dex so I can equip some basic stuff like drake sword and winged spear.

Bought the game today and decided to give it a go. Think i died more than 60 times already in one day lol and i'm only in the beginning of the game. Can't beat the big tall guy with shield and sword. So i just keep redoing run over and over to farm soul. I'm playing as bandit. Anyone know and other fun class or OP class?

This game will make you love it and fuck you in the ass till you hate it at the same time. I'm about to snap my controller in half because of this. When they said patient is the key it really is. But when you meet a boss that is 100x your size at a narrow path with camera shifting left and right and loss all the your souls. Remember that mother fucker goku that scream for 5 episodes. Yeah you'll be him for that moment

Haha, I think you describe it perfectly.

If you're having trouble with some mobs, just try rolling behind the guy when he strikes at you and go for a backstab or a series of stutter strikes which makes the enemy flinch. You can usually get a combo of about 3~4 hits with a dagger.

If you're talking about the big boss in the building, the first time you encounter him, although it's beatable, you should run away into the door to the side. You'll encounter him later after you get a better sword and the game will tell you to do a jumping strike on him.

Give it a try! After playing the first game, no other game has come close other than a replay of Ocarina of Time on my 3DS...

i thought demon souls was a great game, cant wait to get a copy of dark souls.

Is there online co-op in this game?

^yea there's co-op but only before boss fights or hard parts is it viable.

hard to hook up with friends too.

Ah Demon's Souls, I picked it up as a greatest hit and I've never hated a game so much yet I can't put it down. I think I'm going to pick this one up soon.
