I last used this changer about 1.5 years ago and it worked fine then. It has the cartridge and the cable (DIN 8-pin). It doesn't play MP3's. This changer will plug right into some older Honda/Acura stock decks (likely older then 2000). If you'd like to plug this changer into your deck and try it we can do that.
Also found the FM adapter for this, can be hooked up to any car stereo through the FM line. A small Alpine remote display will mount on the dash to control the CD player.
