The point of freedom of speech is so that you are allowed something controversial. However, do not expect that everyone is going to respond politely to controversial things that you said.
Saying "Nigga" - especially if you have some whiteness in you, is controversial.
If she found it offensive (since her homegirl is black), then she'll give you an earful. Expect that. Don't bitch about it.
Lastly, it's an ugly girl, why do you care so much about opinions of ugly women
By the way, what happened after she approached her black friend?

I was caught by an african canadian saying nigga to a friend before when I was younger.
The guy said "wasup". I said "I'm talking to him(a half black friend)". Black guy laughed and walked off
But on the other hand a hindu friend of mine was making fun of the Guru's to another sikh friend. A stranger punjabi heard and a short shoving match ensued. Since then I have kept my racism among friends more low key and for sure not yelling it out in public.

You weren't wrong for saying the N word. You weren't right for saying it too. This is because in this context you provided you were referring to your friend and he wasn't offended by it. However, this girl that you mentioned just happened to hear it. Now, if you were referring it to her then you are definitely in the wrong, but she was in fact in the wrong here too. She shouldn't have demanded you to stop using that word; she can't force it on you. She should have politely asked for an apology or something.
But you've also made a bad choice to respond in the way you did. You can blame it on the alcohol or whatever, but it takes a man to accept your responsibilities. You could have politely replied sorry instead of agitating her and yourself. Sorry is a word that doesn't have meaning until you back it up. You could have just 'apologized' but not mean it for that girl and it would have avoided the whole situation.
My main point that I'm trying to get across is that it takes two. There are always multiple sides for situation like these.
By the way, I don't really like the way you described her as 'ugly' you didn't have to put it there. I think you should keep this stuff yourself sometimes it doesn't matter if she's ugly or not. However you did mention that her ugliness agitated you, so I think something is wrong here.
^ actually, I think her appearance has everything to do with it.
I mean, what if this chick was a ten? Chances are, OP's reactions might have been different?
Appearance has everything to do with everything. (Initially, anyways)
could've avoided this entire thread by replying "ok" to the polish chick and have a blast with your budz.

Late reply, but I had school and other pressing matters. To be honest, I already knew exactly who was in the wrong. This country was built on freedom of expression. That broad should have known that. I did not go around yelling "Nigger" at the top of my lungs (in fact I have never used that word in malice , ever in my life), nor did I trample upon someone else' unalienable rights to freedom of speech , expression, culture, etc. It was an exchange that took place between two friends- between two adults, in a crowded and noisy environment during a party where alcohol was present.
Your rights to free speech end where someone else' begins. I never crossed the line; I was right in this case, and she had no business to come into mine. I am a sociology minor and I posted this to see what kind of reaction I'd get. To see just how totally PC-crazy this free country has become. Thanks for proving my point. You people should learn the meaning of the word "context", and how even the most disparaging comments have no weight given certain contexts. However, I am not here to give you guys a lesson on socially acceptable forms of syntax, perhaps when you leave high school you will encounter it first hand. In the mean time, all you PC-lunatics absolutely sicken me (but it's probably not your fault since most of you are ESLs). Thanks to everyone else who saw my side. toodles!

I owe her an apology for what exactly? For being in her presence? For breathing her air? For exercising my right to free speech? For the emotional and physical torment I inflicted upon her virgin ears? What?? givemeafuckingbreak.
^ I believe what Lamboda is saying is that if you keep up this attitude and you're in for a lot of unnecessary, meaningless and most importantly AVOIDABLE shit in your life.

First, as a mature adult, you handled it like a drunk 18year old with a chip on his shoulder. Putting your smart as attitude ahead of your common sense was stupid. Secondly, stop blaming your judgement on alcohol because if you were an adult, you'd know how to handle it like one.
Only smack talkers and young kids can't handle their booze who need something to prove
Didn't read what you said. The thanks is for your avitar. =)
