Who was in the wrong here?
 

Last saturday I went out to a club. I was already pretty drunk by the time I got in and so were my 3 friends. One of them I've known for 10yrs now so we're really close friends. We got in and make a bee-line straight for the bar. When we got to the bar, I said, "Let's do some shots , NIGGAAAAA!!!" and patted him on the back.

He laughed and we start ordering shots. He's white, I'm half. No more than 10 seconds after this has been said , and it was loud as fuck in the bar, and it was just between 2 friends, I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turn around and there's this skinny looking , ugly tramp with typical ugly Polish girl face and she goes, "Hey don't ever say that word." in her best high school teacher impression. I replied , "excuse me? what word?" she goes "that word that you said..the N word." Me and my friend looked at each other and burst out laughing, "Listen," I replied, "I've known this guy since grade 8. We're close friends, it's cool." My friend's like "It's cool we're buddies." and cordially smiles at her (we are still not sure if she's for real). She get's all condescending and goes "It doesn't matter! You shouldn't say it because it's offensive."

Now at this point, I am agitated, and I am in no mood to argue with her over the nuisances of idioms and grammatical contexts. Especially in a bar at 1am. Especially when I am hammered, and ESPECIALLY when she's an ugly white cunt with a chip on her shoulder.

So, I respond in the only way I could think of, "Fuck off!" I said and turned back to my friend. She yells "Fuck you! man!" I'm like "whatever ! Go fuck yourself, mind your own business." and finger her. She storms off and fingers me.

And I thought that was the end of it, but alas, the saga was just beginning.

We leave with our shots and start getting wasted with the rest of our friends. My friend and I told the rest of the crew and we laughed it off and enjoyed our night. 30 mins past and I come back to the bar for a beer. Across the bar from me was the ugly Polish bitch, and with her was this one black chick, and she whispered something into the black chick's ear and pointed at me. I knew exactly what was going to happen next, so I pretended not to see them. It was too late though since I had been spotted and the two hideous swampy creatures made their way towards me around the bar. I braced myself for the inevitable.

OK I am going to stop here for a sec , because what happens next is not as important as what happened earlier. It's already getting quite long and I have to study for midterms. But I do want your inputs: Who was in the wrong, me or the Polish chick? Was I wrong for saying the word "NiggA (with an A)" to my close friend , and just him- not loud enough for anyone else to hear, OR was she wrong for butting in where she doesn't belong and trying to start an argument?

I wish the black chick punched you for making all these stupid ass threads.

You know what your problem is? Your problem is that you're focusing on the things in life that don't really matter. When I was a kid I had hopes and dreams. We all did. But over time, the daily grind gets in the way and you miss the things that really matter, even though they are right in front of you, staring you in the face. I think the next time you should ask yourself "Am I on the right track here?". I don't mean to be rude but people like you I really pity. So maybe you could use the few brain cells you have and take advantage of the knowledge I have given you now.

And this is why...

I use the term gay. I use it to describe something that displeases me or is super fucking annoying. In the same way most people use it.
Now I don't use it to offend anyone, it's just an adjective I use that I feel perfectly describes some situations. I have absolutely nothing against gay people.

Moving on, I used it in front of a friend one time. She was offended by it. So I said sorry and I told her I would not use that word in her presence again. Just to be respectful. But, I told her that I will not stop using it. Because it is my right to. But, that doesn't mean I am going to do something in front of someone that doesn't like it. It's called being courteous and respectful.
In the same way, a lot of smokers ask if they can smoke if they're around you. They are just being respectful. Same type of deal here.

Just because something doesn't affect you, doesn't mean it doesn't affect someone else. So in those instances, just be respectful. This goes for all things.

Is polish chick black? No. She's polish. How does that offend her? Not to mention the context was friendly between friends. How do black people today use the word among one another? I think that's partially how it got transferred over to usage between other races. I think OP is in the clear here but one thing for sure is please.... stay safe.
