Possible craigslist scam? Need advice Hello. My roommate found this ad on craigslist. Apparently, this guy is a "loaded businessman" currently in Belgium, and he was looking for someone to buy things from him and deliver it to him. He told my roommate that if he thinks its sketchy, he is free to open up the parcels to check if the things he will be handling / delivering are illegal or not. He told him that he will give the money first and then buy things with the money. After about a month, he got two $900 MoneyGram international money order. Does anyone know what this is about or heard about it? The craigslist ad is not available anymore and the person did not give any personal information or any sort out. Just wanted to see if this is another popular international scam scheme or whatnot. Thanks http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...on87/photo.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...12-02-03PM.jpg |
So you are paid to buy things from him and deliver it to him? makes zero sense at all |

srsly tho op, how does this NOT look like a scam? |
 why would some "rich" business man contact you all the way across the sea to buy your crappy trinkets when he can get his admin assistant to go to a store or order it off the internet? |
Well, if I had contacts in the UK, I would be getting them to buy me stuff too. Not sure about how legit it is, but I know that lots of places in Europe will not ship to North America. So maybe the reverse is true and they don't have anybody to send them things in North America. |

I'd like to just comment by saying.. if this guy is from Belgium, shouldn't he be able to use proper fucking English? =| Nigerians... :fuckthatshit: |

How do people fall for these things? Honestly, as soon as I see that the person is from half way around the world, I tell them to f*ck off. Americans looking at Vancouver ads makes sense...Europeans looking at our ads? Really? I'd hate to have you on my Facebook. It would be annoying seeing you try to get free iPads, Tim Hortons and Olive Garden gift cards. |
