Anyone know the difference between Canadian bottle rockets and the American ones? besides the usa being more expensive?

InvisibleSoul 10-29-2011 11:06 PM

I went to a few different Phatboy locations tonight, and what I can tell you is that prices vary greatly.

I went to the one on Kingsway near King Edward, another one on Kingsway near Slocan, and the 41st and Knight locations.

By far, the Kingsway near Slocan location had the best deals.

Just buy fireworks on the 31st. They need to clear their stock or whatever they don't sell goes back to the companies. So they will try and sell to make some money.

FerrariEnzo 10-30-2011 07:28 AM

im just waiting for someone to post up videos of people getting shot at in the nuts and thinks its boss...

If you get the chance, compare the one Vansterdam proposed and the one on Kingsway near Slocan (that Invisible Soul proposed).

Quick question is there tax on fireworks? I went to the phatboy location near David Thompson and I think they ripped me off by 10-20$
Banner outside says $3 for 2 dancing devils and a whole bunch of crap
I bought shitloads so I didn't calculate the prices until now lol

Does retail locations charge tax for fireworks? I still haven't stepped into a store yet. Maybe soon... :alonehappy:

Vansterdam 10-31-2011 05:19 PM

do you need to bring ID or a permit to buy fireworks?

bluejays 10-31-2011 05:21 PM

ID for sure, pretty sure the only place you need a permit are shops in vancouver

Everymans 10-31-2011 06:48 PM

I didn't do a whole lot of shopping around but I really wanted some real god damn explosives, some cherry bombs, bottle rockets or firecrackers, the guy I bought mine from said they weren't allowed. what the hell? I ended up with some crackling thunder and and red dragon candle. Haven't tried them but i know they aren't gonna blow up this old tv like i planned.

TRDood 10-31-2011 06:53 PM

Vic and 50th have nothing. No sky rockets no menance.

dyan 10-31-2011 06:55 PM

Everyman

just buy some m80's and your tv is done.

CRS 10-31-2011 07:51 PM

Remember to price check on phatboy buying from a retailer!

After that, take like 5 dollars off from each cake!

TRDood 10-31-2011 07:57 PM

Just picked up my stuf from phatboy on Knight and 41st.

Menace $30
Meltdown cake $15
Thundershot x2 $5 each
Crackle jack x4 $1.50 each
Random big shooting things x2 $25

$80 no tax plus a pack of sparklers.
