Where do you buy your fireworks? Local outlet, craigslist, "friends"?
A lot of CL postings are advertisements are from local retail outlets... Can't really tell who is private seller.
In past years, fireworks spending is usually $200 shared amongst 6-8 friends and last for a couple hours.
i always buy them the day off before they have to close down shop they give crazy discount me and a few buddys went pitched in 50 each and we got so much. 6 family packs and a bunch of random bricks or the sky rockets roman candles. they do consignments on the fire works so they have to give back what they cant sell so they will even reduse there price to 50% off at times if your lucky.

On consignment it's a guaranteed sale. The stuff they don't sell the return and get there money back.
I sold fireworks for years until the city banned them. Use to light off a lot too. Here are my picks.
Family packs suck. A lot of low end no name junk.
Budget stuff:
Crackling candle: Roman candle that shoots out fire crackers. One of my favorites.
Sky rockets: Bottle rockets made legal for Canada. Come in 1 and 3 stages. Good cheap fun.
Air bombs: Don't cheap out. Some stores will sell Air Bomb type fireworks for 5/$1.99. They are not the same as real Air Bombs. The cheaper ones are not that loud.
Dancing devils: Spin on the ground change color.
High end:
Multi shot candles: Boring. You see these candles that have 70 or more shots. After the first 10 or 15 it just becomes repetitive.
Cakes are the way to go. They are boxes that have multiple tubes in them.
My favorite is The Menace Filled the whole sky with awesomeness.
If you are lighting off a lot of fireworks that have to be burried get a PVC pipe and a bucket. Put the pipe in the middle of the bucket fill the sides with rocks or sand. Makes for fast reloads.

i wish i knew where to buy the origional loud air bombs without having to buy them in a shit family pack.
and where can i buy 'the menace'? i try and stock up on fireworks for my snowmobeiling trips in the winter.. nothing like being on the peak of a mountain and launching them off and lighting up the entire sky
I like my dose of bear scares...usually shuts everyone up.

There was a fireworks ad in the Province paper today and they sold the Menace. Don't have the paper anymore but they had multiple locations.

Last year me and 2 buddies all bought grand finales.. We had something like 10-15 cases. We ended up lighting 5 at a time and wow did they ever light up the sky.. Initially we started with only 1 and would light it off then someone from a distance would try and show us up. So we kept adding to the pile..

I buy mine in Burnaby on Kingsway - negotiate with people who sell fireworks, they're making a killing. Last year I probably walked out with $300 retail worth (their sticker price) for less than $200.
