LED strip installation

I want to install LED strips in my car. I want to wire it up to my door switch so when i open the door, the LEDS turn on, and when i close the door, they turn off. Problem is, i dont know how to do this. I have looked online and got alot of different ways of doing it but they have a separate switch to turn the lights on. I want the lights to go on when i open my door. Im just completely lost now. Can someone explain to me how to do this?

TIA

inside or outside of your car?

find the wires running to your door sill lights or whatever other lights turn on when the door is open. hook up your LED wires to those in parallel. shouldnt need a battery hookup if this is done because LEDs are so efficient

I just made up everything here. I am in no way electronically knowledgeable. If your car blows up I cannot be held responsible.
