Good/Bad experiences at OpenRoad Toyota - Richmond

I am wondering if you guys can share some bad/good experiences you've had at OpenRoad Toyota Richmond on the sales side. Whether its the sales person, sales manager or as a whole. Your input would greatly help. Please don't hold back.

Thanks

Girlfriend bought a Matrix from them several years ago, no problems.

then grandparents bought a corolla from them - the sales guy was trying to rip them off...(until i stepped in and went to look at the papers with them)

I guess it depends on who you deal with?

I went in a few years ago looking to buy a 09 Matrix. I think the sales manager talked to me was very rude, wanted to sell at all possible way. I didn't like being treated this way so I went somewhere else and got a better service.

Personal experience, it is garbage. I went in with my parents because my dad wanted to buy a Toyota for himself. No one bothers to ask him anything or says hi when he was looking at the cars. They weren't even busy at that time. Because he was wearing jeans, runners and a casual blue jacket? Treated him like he couldn't afford a car.

They also have this stupid old dumb asian guy called "product specialist" walking around. Why the hell would they hire this dumb shit to walk around and tell ppl about the car by reading off the paper that's on the car. I'm sure this guy is very knowledgeable about the car LOL.

Well, I said screw these dicks here. He went to Regency Toyota on Kingsway instead after and bought his car there. Never looked by since then.

My experience there was horrible. Like Euro7r went there with my dad since he was thinking of buying a rav4. We were looking at the Rav4 and no one even came up to us to talk. We were there for 30 minutes with no help and it wasn't even busy. This was 2 years ago so it might have changed since.

this was my experience:

http://www.revscene.net/forums/65453...ml#post7598739

note: the person in question no longer works at OpenRoad Toyota

reading the above comments, it looks like overall they aren't very good at customer service

The sales people there are so rude, especially the Asian sales people. They have an attitude if you don't buy it, somebody else will.

Had a good experience with Frank Wong picking up our Venza in summer of 09, called to follow up on us a couple weeks after asking how we liked the car.

Damn didn't expect such poor reviews of Openroad

Pretty much same experience when looking for my corolla. When I actually talked to the guy pretty much said no discounts. Laughed and walked away.. Went to the one on Fraser and Marine. Got the car I wanted at a good price.. Was really happy. 3 Year later down the road, Sales guy does a follow up with me to see how its going.. Great service!

this

i hate when these greaseball fucks do this by judging one's physical appearance, yet alot of them make less annual income than most of the customers shopping around....

Our family just bought 2 Toyota's from West Coast Toyota over the weekend. We got $1000 off my 2012 Sienna and $500 off my brother's Yaris... If you don't mind the drive out there....

Dealings with Eddie (mid-age Chinese guy)

Bought Corolla in 2002 - knew exactly what I want, had to wait for 2 months, no discounts given, only crappy floor mats
Bought Matrix in 2006 - knew exactly what I want, had the car in stock, no discounts given, nothing else for free'

The above two vehicles are paid for in cash, no finance/lease, so I guess a better deal might show up if I shop around.

Last month, I wondered into Openroad Toyota Richmond to check out the new tC, Kevin (young Chinese guy) is quite helpful but never really got into negotiating price though. Current Toyota are not very appealing.

The service department at Openroad Richmond has been good so far, no problems at all since 2002. However, Downtown Toyota is quite expensive and they recommend services "early". My tranny flush was done at 90k but the book says 100k. I won't go back there again unless I have to...

Sorry, off topic but you want to own an M3 and already don't like doing early preventative maintenance on your Toyota?

The total bill for my Downtown Toyota experience was $700+, which include oil change, tranny flush, and something else I forgot. They charged $25 to replace my burnt out tailight bulb when Openroad only charge $3 for parts and free labour.

Yes, I would like to own an M3 and know that maintenance will cost ~3-4 times a Toyota. However, I don't believe that overcharging customers or doing maintenance 10k early for a stock vehicle is warranted.

Being an advisor depending on the condition of your fluids we'll advise or let you know if you wanted it done or not. No matter what they would ask for your permission first. Unless your service advisor did it without your permission.
XD Nothing wrong with showing your vehicle alil bit more lovin by keeping their fluids clean
