IF the car was totaled, how do you think ICBC would calculate write-off amount? I JUST got the car 5 hours before the accident.

Glad you're okay. Seems like you have a good amount of witness already.
Unless the Cayenne was stolen, it won't be that hard for the police to track the owner down.
Did you purchase the optional new vehicle coverage? Or aka as "New Vehicle Replacement"?
If so...and ICBC determined it's a total lost.... you'll get a BRAND NEW car of the exact same brand + model at no cost to you.
Or you have the option to replace your vehicle of one that cost the same amount.
Or you can opt for 100% cash payment.

No i don't have that coverage unfortunately.
Question: this M3 is DCT. Tow driver towed the car on it's front wheels. Since rear wheels are off the ground, does the car still have to be in neutral when being towed to avoid damage to transmission?

I think its 70-75% of the value before its a write off, dont remember exactly.
Doesn't look like it will be written off from the pictures. But then again we cant tell until its taken apart.

That really sucks, just saw your post on m3post, glad you are ok. Tbh I hope the car is write off, because otherwise u are gonna take a big hit on the car value. If the car is repairable, no.1 collision is a very reputable shop, i believe Brian Jessel use them to do body work. Good luck, buddy! Really shocking hear that. Hoping for good news! The car does not look like a write off. You will 99% get a repaired car, not a new car. This means a lower resell value later on. Make sure you check your car carefully after the repair job.

I'm not sure how it works but if they decide not to write it off, the value will depreciate if you sell the car in the future (unless if it's a lease), try to get a compensation for it.

i was in the same boat couple months ago, our 2 months old car was hit. The damage was 1/3 of the value of the car, we tried negotiating with the adjustor for some kind of compensation for our car, but we did not succeed.
Hope you feel better, and keep us updated

Will No.1 collision side with me, or ICBC in terms of what parts to use / how to repair? I would *imagine* they want to make more money by doing a complete job / use genuine BMW parts?

IF you do, try to limit the conversation to just your vehicle, not about your injuries and DO NOT SIGN any kind of papers whatsoever.
Go talk to a lawyer first!

Ouch sorry to hear this happened on a brand new car too as long as they towed on the front wheels, you shoul be fine. Might be a good idea to get a wheel alignment when it's all fixed. Can't believe those douches fled the scene! Your car doesn't look too bad. Even if you had the new car insurance, it doesn't look damage enough to get a new one anyways.
DO NOT sign anything, call a lawyer up and get some advice as I would be more concerned with your health. Cars come and go, but you only have one back an neck and if anything long term comes up later on that prevents you from working, it needs to be documented now. Hi guys,
I just returned from hospital. CT scan results showed everything is good. I still feel light-headed, but that should go away in a few days.
If I don't sign any paper from ICBC, will they still initialize the process of getting the car repaired? What if they tell me if I don't sign, they cannot / will not start reparing my car?

CONTACT A LAWYER ASAP like the other guys said!!!!!
This is NOT your fault and u should get compensated properly. U never know if ICBC's try to get away with just giving u a small amount of $ while bump the f$$K up on the other party's insurance rate.
