I didn't get an invite but I played on my friend's account... and as for first impressions, I think HoN is a better game. Dota 2 gameplay doesn't feel polished; I feel like the gameplay is really slow. Last-hitting is also harder because the attack animations feel so slow. I've only played 2 games though so maybe I'm just not used to it.

It's extremely sluggish.. feels like there's a delay even though there isn't lol.

Got invited today, and only played one game. I'm kind of disappointed, because with all of the hype I expected it to be better. It just doesn't feel right compared to the original Dota. I don't really like how the movement/animation as well, scrolling, and the interface is confusing. I expected the heroes to look more like WC3/Hon heroes, but instead it looks like LoL?

I agree with all said above,

the game is really fuckin slow,

and screen scrolling feels really wierd and stuttery,

attack animations arent clear and defined, I find it hard to deny.

Hon is a much better game as it stands right now,

BUT

S2 is a shitty fuckin company that sold out its customers,

also hon is on year 4 now? whereas dota 2 is in beta, so we really shouldnt compare the polishness of them

spell animations are ugly (shadow fiend razes are so fucking ugly)

the game's main page is actually sad. they spend months (years?) working on this and the best they can come up with is that retarded page? i rather open wc3 and click bnet. at least that looks cooler with the opening of flaming doors.

i like sf's new razes =) true though, scrolling is terrible and last hitting lags.
only in beta though, knowing it's icefrog, he'll actually listen to our complaints.

Hon > Dota2. After playing a few more games of Dota2, I went back to Hon. I can't stand the huge delay(although there isn't any?) anymore. If I wanted to play cartoon version of Dota.. then I rather install LoL.

im actually getting kinda used to it now,

I can kind of play competatively now as im used to the choppyness,

and I dont notice the cartoonyness anymore.

Although the real problem still I find it the lack of definition on spells,

eventhough I know which character is which, I cant fuckin tell if theyre gonna cast a move at me, and which move it is.

Like sand king for example, the guy could be ulti'ing right beside me and I wouldnt know it
