Urban Garage -anyone with experience?

As above. I'm looking at a vehicle and just wondering what their track record is like. I know they've been in business for awhile and I know they seem like a reputable company, but I'd like to hear what anyone has heard or experienced with them.

Most notably, where or who services their cars? Do they back their cars?

Thanks

They're pretty reputable and have a good track record. They seem to have a certain target market/demographic so that helps them. I dealt with them when they had a 3.2L Carerra in stock at one point. Sale went south on my part after finding out my insurance was beyond reasonable (at the time) and they were completely understanding about it and even gave me my refund back in full.

Friend of mine bought an RSX from them and again, good experience. No hassles, no fuss. A guy at work bought a late-model E39 540i from them 2 years ago and so far, so good.

Not sure who maintains their cars. Good luck!

I haven't dealt with them as far as sales goes, but I have met Duncan and they have sponsored our track days (Porsche Club) so I have nothing but good things to say.

Duncan is a great guy. See him at the track every so often. My business dealings with UG have always been smooth and hassle free.

Mark is an ex autoXer and a pretty good guy to deal with.

I do believe they have their own mechanic(s) but I will ask Mark to confirm this.

I know of a couple of people that have bought cars from UG, all have been happy with their purchases and the service they got.

I bought my car there. No issues, Mark Petriw is very knowledgeable and helpful. They even took the car all the way from West Van to Richmond for my mechanic's inspection. No complaints.

They disclosed all accidents and history, weren't pushy at all.

They also are certified installers for TireRack.

Definitely would consider buying my next car there too.

That's what I liked about them. They were completely fine with me having the car checked out by a mechanic/shop of my choice and were willing to make arrangements to do so on my behalf.

They're very particular about the cars they chose to buy/sell as they have a very discerning customer base. Urban Garage is definitely in my books as an excellent independent dealer.

Thanks folks. All great feedback. I should feel safe with my purchase then, albeit a particular issue with the car I'm looking at.
